What the players run draws the headlines but there’s another number scouts track: the number of steps you run it in. Gorscak said one of the most impressive 40 times he had ever seen run was Calvin Johnson, who ran a 4.4 flat in 2007. He did it in only 18 steps, beating the average of 22 to 24.

That became relevant when Dri Archer ran his 4.26 seven years later.

“Dri Archer ran real fast….Calvin Johnson was 6’5, Archer was 5’8. He did it in 18 steps and he didn’t have the length. That was phenomenal about the amount of power he forced out to go forward.”

Maybe Archer isn’t the best example of counting steps but it’s a cool little insight I don’t recall ever being

The only thing I will say about Dri Archer was that he was possibly the most misused player I've seen. The guy was tiny and the only time he touched the ball was handing off in Ace. Those big dudes could bring him down with one ****** hand. In his initial preseason they moved him around, got him into space and he looked good. The real games started and it was over. He had great speed. Shity coaching. I ****** hate Haley. I really do.

He should've been deployed the way the Chiefs deploy Tyreek Hill

Misused hell he was a midget and someone got Al Davis enamored with his speed and drafted him.

To use him properly someone has to give him a job where he doesn't have far to reach.

The Pats have a couple small, much slower receivers that do just fine. I'm not sure exactly what he could do. He sure as hell didn't have the skillset to do what they had him doing.

MY main question is why hasn't this thread been MERGERED into that existing Archer thread???? WTF

I suppose it's because Justin feels he should get special privileges ????

160+ pages,..................plus this ONE.....................

PS. I didn't see how many steps it took Archer? 17 for Johnson but how many for Archer? 7.058ft per step for Calvin and curious to Archers stride footage.

This was the exact same question I posed to TMC before he left for good. I wanted to know what he thought about Archer's stride record, being as short as he was. I never got a reply.... RIP TMC, we miss ya!

Not even throwback Thursday yet and we get a Dri thread. Man this guy got destroyed on this board. It was a bad pick. I hope we can draft like we did last year and our picks become ballers for us.

I don't really remember him ever being used.

Maybe NOT used, but, definitely abused............................................Dang grass blades ruined it for all of us..................................

ohhh..he was used. Maybe even abused. Supe spent a weekend with him, couldn't have been pretty....

I'll take him!

For flag football.

Most sprinters are tall and leggy. One of the fastest women on the planet is my former neighbor Lauryn Williams (look it up) who is only 5'3".
