I actually thought this would happen: all the **** talk on the Steelers, combined with all the hype on the Browns, is making this team closer and more focused.

Cool Shades teams tend to slack when favored (which is a horrid trait for a head coach). He fails to get them motivated when they are a contender. But rip on them,
count them out, and that's when the players get focused. I expect a surprising season (unless they get off to too good of a start, which, at that point, they will become
unfocused and lackluster again). I hope this fuels them all season and postseason long.

Dejan on his site (DK Pittsburgh Sports) has been saying for months that the locker room isn't as undisciplined and fractured as the national guys often portray, but that the issues stemmed from 2 people (who are now gone). I tend to go with the beat guys who actually go inside the facility and talk with the players over the national squawkers (especially this one). Like everyone, I tend to read between lines (rightfully or not) and I have felt in news since the start of OTA's that there is, at the very least, an concerted effort on part of players to present a more unified front to the media/fans. I take this as a good sign that they want to portray a more positive image. Was this driven by team execs, HC, or player leaders? Maybe some of all, but I sense that Cam and Foster are driving much of it. To which I say - GOOD.

Wow. Chris Simms goes full retard...

**** pft and the ******* that runs it

I'm honestly not trying to fight you. I thought this was a positive, somewhat interesting video - on topic, etc. But of all possible responses, this is what you chose to say.

What about the premise of the video, that the Steelers are actually being drawn closer together from the outside noise? Anything?

not trying to fight you either. You've been here many times under different names as as such should know that I always post the same comment in any thread someone starts that has links to or info from that ******* ****** *** website....

and stop adding ******* videos to your posts. (as you've been told previously under different user names)

Yes, Cam, Foster and, to some extent, Conner, TJ, Ben. And I have often heard that coaches, as hard as they try, cannot lead a team unless there are team leader players. It was a strong core of team leader players that allowed Cool Shades to win the ring he did. Aaron Smith, James Farrior, Ward, Keisel, Clark, Ike, Harrison, Ben...that team ran itself. And prior to that group, Cowher's mid 90's teams had Lloyd, Lake, Woodson etc. That is why Hoodie always strives for a mixture of young guys with vets: He knows leader players are imperative.

I honestly didn't commit your disdain for any particular website to memory. You seem angry about a lot. <shrugs shoulders> And I see other posters post videos all the time. Why do you only reprimand me for posting videos?

And why have a feature on the site to post videos if you don't want any posted? Honest questions here.

as I've stated...I am not angry about anything on this message board.

Others post once in a while....you have a penchant for doing it..

you want to post videos on sport topics like highlights or an interview...fine. posting videos like you mostly do, is just a waste of ******* bandwidth.

you ask a lot of questions for a guy who never answers those directed at him

Bobby Bufford........ Have you ever been banned from this site and if so, under what name were you using????

Honest question and hoping for an honest answer.............

Salute the nation

How does anyone know anything about their locker room discipline since they haven't even been in a locker room as a fully constructed team yet? I would wait until at least they start playing real football before I would deem them "fixed". Wasn't it just last week that a player called Ben out for not apologizing to AB sooner?

Your comparison doesn’t make sense. You apply Tomlin’s win with Chin’s players, yet comment Cowher’s own success, less a ring, with players from Chuck.

You can’t have it both ways......Belichick’s choices of players has nothing to do with his “success”. Rather his successes were from purposely gaining unfair advantages in the rules of the game. The players make no difference. Had Bledsoe not gotten hurt, he probably would have become the icon from Belichick’s cheating instead of Marcia.

My take on the "players from the previous coach" issue is this. Cowher took over a team that went 25-23 in the 3 prior seasons, with very questionable QB talent, yet went 32-16 his first 3 seasons, and made the playoffs all three years. He also added Leon Searcy, Levon Kirkland, Joel Steed, and Darren Perry in his first draft. Say what you will about taking over Noll's team; he won a ton more games, made more playoffs, and added a ton of talent his first draft.

Tomlin took over a team that had gone 34-14 the prior 3 seasons, with 2 playoff appearances, a championship, and with a HOF quarterback. He added Timmons, Woodley and Gay his first draft. He went 31-17 his first 3 seasons, with the 2008 championship.

Cowher improved the talent and the record. Tomlin actually won fewer games than his predecessor, despite taking over a team with an established, highly-talented QB and a tremendous defense. Facts.

I'd wait until the first 1:00 road game as a favorite. That spot in warmer weather is usually a face plant -- see Chicago and Miami in recent years.

Well, since Dejan is a beat reporter and is actually in the "locker room" (and by that I mean around the team in the practice facilities), I would suggest he and other beat writers who are actually talking directly to the players know a bit more than anyone not on the Steeler's payroll. Further, DK has been reporting this since it started last year although I am not sure what fully constructed roster has to do with it seeing as most of the team was here last year and will be in the coming year.

I don't think anyone said it is fixed. I am pretty sure what I said was that it seems the team is trying to present a better external image. I would call that a start, not a finished product. But I would agree that the one true result won't be known until we start seeing the scoreboard.

As to a player calling out Ben last week - I admit, I didn't see that one. Link?

Soon or a later pop always loves him some cheatriot slobber. No doubt in my mind who this guy is.

You can look up the thread about Ben. It isn't that old.

Also the fracture in the "locker room" wasn't actually IN the locker room. You're aware of that right? It was on social media. Bell was never even IN the locker room last year. The issue with AB was on social media and in front of everyone at the bungles game. So I really don't care what some beat reporter has to say about anything because if there is an issue with players it will be on twitter NOT in a physical locker room. Which is why I said we should wait and see since the "team" isn't even set yet. Not only that but I don't remember one time last year where a reporter said anything about division in the locker room.. do you? I'd like that link. Because we all know it was there.

You don't have to be snarky - you could just answer the question direct with no additional effort. I assume you meant Porter. When you said player, I assumed (incorrectly) you meant current player, not former. My bad. BTW - I don't give two ***** about what Porter has to say given he has every reason to be bitter since he was let go.

I am aware of the social media blow ups. I am also aware that many football fans and national media wonks used that to say the Tomlin lost control of the team and that there is chaos in the "locker room". BTW - I think most people get the term "locker room" is used loosely to mean off the field and team chemistry rather than just the physical dressing area. But, if it helps, I'll use "off the field" instead.

There were plenty of issues last year not on Twitter such as AB speeding, the radio broadcast, the blowup on the sideline, etc that people used to show the team is fractured and has internal problems. Social media is often the view into the problem as it is in the public domain, but often there is a problem that lead to those comments.

But, I digress. I think we both agree with the notion the results of the off season - the answer to the questions on if the team moved on from last years "drama" - won't truly be known until the lights come on and the scoreboard tells the results.

Big difference was BC won a Super Bowl with all his own players. He _reached_ another SB with Noll players, but when he finally won it in 2005, Noll was 15 years removed. I don't think Noll had anything to do with Ben, Parker, Miller, Ward, Marvel Smith, Faneca, Aaron Smith, Hartings, Hampton, Polamalu, Porter, etc. What's Shades won since BC's players fell off? What's Shades accomplished in 8 years? How many playoff wins? Oh, but that twirling the head set move is very impressive. He looks the coolest out there.

One could easily make the slam dunk argument that DQ7, AB, and LB for 5 seasons were more talented and productive than the original Triplets in Dallas.

Barry Switzer somehow managed to win 5 playoff games in his first 3 seasons with that collection of offensive talent. Shades had 3 playoff playoff wins in 5 seasons of generational talent and still only 3 since the SB loss to GB.

His seat should be lava-hot this year.

That was my point. Everything is out in the open. A locker room reporter isn't going to know much more than anyone else. We have no idea how this season is going to play out internally. The cancers are gone but they are still in the heads of the current players. If someone "likes" AB tweet then there is rumblings that he is disrespecting Ben ETC... They should all STFU and just worry about who is in the locker room... but they haven't done that yet. There appears to be some animosity between some of the players and the FO for not treating AB fairly. There also appears to be some between some of the players and Ben. Hopefully they'll just play football and let all this **** die.
