#Steelers sign C-G Doug Legursky and put WR David Nelson on IR.

Serviceable backup, good signing. With him and Wallace at least depth is not an issue anymore, the roster then should be: beachum, foster, Wallace, decastro, Gilbert, Villanueva, legursky, pouncey. That's 8, with pouncey designated injured to return and adams completing 8 again.if there's a ninth (which isn't sure as none of the young guard guys has established himself to earn a spot) might be called directly from the PS after the final roster cuts, maybe Finney?

Good move. I expect that Wallace starts, but you do have to have two guys who can snap in any game. And if he is better than Wallace he starts.

Wallace will start and Legursky will be the top backup at C/G and active on gameday. Basically, Wallace takes Pouncey's spot and Legursky takes Wallace's spot. We had to add a center, we can't be one play away from Chris Hubbard snapping to Ben but we will be in a really rough spot if we sustain another injury at guard or tackle.

Good move experience wise but from what his resume reads, Doug's tank may be running a bit low.

Legursky has made 30 starts in six NFL seasons, including 17 with the Steelers when he played for them from 2009-12. Legursky started 11 games for Buffalo in 2013 and two games for the Chargers last season.

Let's hope he isn't needed all that much. He wasn't sitting home on the couch fur nuttin'.

Legs is back! Once a Steeler, always a Steeler

Sounds like a good move. He is likely an upgrade over the rookie class by a bunch. He has also played reasonably well in the past when called upon. Right now the team has three guys to play tackle that are healthy, Kelvin, Gilbert, Alejandro, with the possible addition of Adams when he recovers, guards in DeCastro, Foster, Center/Guard in Fister/Legurski, add Pouncey when he returns and the line is set with the rookies to the practice squad and possibly one makes the team. Nine lineman with out the rookies and Pouncey and Adams on the active roster. As I understand it only one player can go on the eligible to return list so it might be wise to put Adams there and that would allow Pouncey to comeback when ever he is ready or put no one there and realize you will pull one of the practice squad guys in the advent of additional injuries.

Adams would go on a separate list, the PUP Reserve list, which means he would miss at least the first 6 games. Pouncey is the one who would go on the IR - Designated for Return list.

Good move. Legs can play if needed and knows our system.

I wouldn't mind upgrading Hubbard (doubt they would) but wouldn't mind it.

Dont like legursky at all I'm hoping this is just a temporary move....by the FO....his contract is not guarandteed unless he is on the opening day 53 man roster.....I do hope steelers pick up DelaPuente or Satele and let the battle it out....shoot Myers is available too longtime center for Houston...
Legursky singlehandedly led to that pick 6 ben threw against the packers with his turnstyle drive blocking in that game.....BJ raji had his way with Legs

There was more than the fact that we were playing a back up at center in the game that led to that pick. Sticking with a game plan regardless of who was available to play might have had something to do with it as well.

Pretty sure it was Chris Kemoueatu who ****** up the block that led to the pick 6...

Sounds deceptively like someone that was banned repeatedly in the past

I can tell he is a brick short, so it wouldn't surprise me............

it was Kemo the turnstyle

he'll do for now.

there will be better pickings from the trash heap in a week or so.

I think this is it. He will be our back up to Wallace until Pouncey comes back. Then gone. Pretty simple actually.
