A little under 24 hours into the start of the official 2021 league year, we had yet to see movement in the apparent stalemate between JuJu Smith-Schuster, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the 31 other teams. Seriously. It’s been crickets.

That is, until NFL Network insider Ian Rapaport tweeted this just minutes ago:

Interesting development in the WR market: The #Jets have been having conversations with #Steelers FA WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, sources say, a potential target in their offense. Despite having signed Corey Davis, NYJ may not be done adding playmakers. Smith-Schuster is one to watch.

Ouch.

However, anyone with phone-in-hand can hold onto it a little longer. Immediately following that tweet came this one from Mike Garafolo:

While @RapSheet says the #Jets have conversations with JuJu Smith-Schuster, the #Steelers haven't closed the door on a return and have remain engaged in the situation the last few days. Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion…

Today might just be the day we know where Smith-Schuster will be playing this season. And it might look bleak now, but it isn’t over yet everyone.

Don’t lose hope.

Folks need to ignore anything from Rappaport, Fowler, Garafalo, Schefter on twitter. Those sources are agents trying to get movement for their clients.......

These weasels only report on the Steelers when it's bad news...now these ******** are hyperventilating because JJSS hasn't signed for a fortune in the first hour of tampering.

He's a slot/possession type WR. He's worth 8-10 million at the most.

Most likely, JuJu’s agent is panicking and has leaked to these guys “rumors” that PIT is still interested so as to keep his client from being given a minimum contract from NYJ.

Still if we could get JuJu on a 2 year deal so he can make something and then get paid in 2022 when the cap increases $25+ million.

Let Boo Boo Shooster go. We can replace him.

Yeah as wonder how JuJu really got a big head to let it grow. Great player but needs to be humbled.

I'd keep JuJu and others before I'd even consider keeping Big Al (love the guy but he sucks).
Yellow flag...holding number 78....

im so over that ****. Time to move on

I think Jets are out. Besides Davis, they just signed Keelan Cole from the Jags.
