They needed a speed WR and he fits the need.
He should be a good complement to Juju.
He should be a good complement to Juju.
I'm good with this as a part of rebuilding WR. Corps. Obviously AB is the star but DHB and Justin whatever his name was are both gone. So you got Washington year two, Moncrief and you should still go high on a draft pick. Throw it in a blender and try to find a number two receiver for Juju. I'm ok with Moncreif competing for the spot. Just not expected to take the spot.
He IMO is no means the answer to AB.
I remember Moncrief being talked about in his draft year.
TMC was high on him, as were others, coming out of college.
His time in Indy shows promise but is ultimately incomplete due to injuries both he and Luck suffered.
I don't count the Jaguars as they never had a QB ( other than the playoffs against us when the ghost of Montana inhabited Bortles for the day ).
If he can stay healthy, I think he'll be an awesome sidekick/complement to JuJu.
Can we afford to still sign Tate, too?
( giggle giggle )
That's JuJu's job. But he'll be a nice complement, along with Washington hopefully continuing his late season improvement.
I am thinking more of a team effort to replace that type of production. Juju is good but good enough to demand constant double teams? not so sure...............
Tate has narrowed his choices down to the Patriots and Steelers.
Hmmmm....This needs to get done, but not certain now with the Pats in the picture. They have a bigger need
My thinking. I just dont think someone like Moncrief is the answer for that.
If anything, he adds the speed they're lacking. He was a pretty good vertical threat when he played with Luck.
He'll also gives them insurance in the event Washington does not develop, though Washington made a lot of progress toward the end of the season.
I agree. This let's us use our first round pick with maybe a third and fourth thrown in to move up the board to get Josh Allen. If he falls to Tampa Bay, I can see this happening. Then use second round pick on a wide receiver. This is a deep wide receiver draft. My favorite is Parris Campbell from Ohio State. Receivers rated ahead of him were far less productive in college and he runs a 4.31.
Watching those highlights, 90% of those balls were from Luck. Quite a few fades / contested catches too. I think Ben will like.
I remember when I actually did pay attention to the draft and players I really liked this guy. Not that that means anything, but this could potentially be a great pick-up. We need that vertical threat.
