He threw for more yards than any QB in div. 1 last year.

And not only was he not drafted, he wasn't even signed by any team as an UDFA.

He had to win a spot on Pitt in a rookie tryout.

He's not tall (6-2) and his arm isn't that strong, but there is more to being a QB than that. He must have some skills if he threw for more yards than anyone in div. 1.

Good throwing technique. Keeps the ball near his right earhole, quick release. Arm strength just okay. Barely over 6' but that was not an issue for the #1 pick. Worked out of shotgun all the time in college, so basically no experience in pro set or dropping back.

Another arm in camp. See what he has.

I think productive players are always worth a look. Plus I am curious what they will do with Dobbs if Rudolph wns the backup gig. If they will move him or keep him........

I think #2 is gonna beat out #5. Time will tell. I'm ready for camp to start.

Accordin to the OP, he's BEN's superstar replacement, so don't sleep on him......... I'm thinking more along the lines of what you've said. He is another camp arm and if by chance he impressed enough, then maybe a PS stash (pretty unlikely though).

Salute the nation

I guess theoretically he could win the third string over Dobbs, no way they are cutting Rudolph. This really is not the organization to do that. Shades bases most decisions on pedigree if you will. This kids pedigree is mongrel. His hest hope is for some good tape and catch on elsewhere. Good luck.

I never once thought about sleeping on him

I won't deprive Bobby of that, it is a welcomed break from being on his knees at the Patriot's facility..

Deal in straw man arguments, much?

nothing in that video was all that impressive. A lot of short passes and a few wounded ducks floating to receivers.

but you need a lot of arms in camp so I'm fine with him getting a shot.

Or, another thread you ruined?

The truth stings does it?

Ruining threads is all you do, way to contribute to content there.

Responding to another poster ruined your thread?

I hope you recover from your breakdown. I am pulling for you.

There is a scenario where Rudolph beats Dobbs for #2, Dobbs is traded for a draft pick and Hodges is kept on the practice squad.

Outside chance, but a chance none the less. That is what the fields of Latrobe are for. To see if some of these undrafted can surprise.

Indeed.
It shows him tucking and running a bit too quickly and a bit much.
Half that highlight reel is him running the ball.
Not the highlights I want to see from a QB......that 32 teams passed on......7 times each.......that wasn't signed post draft.......and made the squad as a camp tryout.
Stranger things have happened, but I wouldn't bet anything other than monopoly money he makes the team.

Why would a team trade for Dobbs especially if he can't beat out Rudolph? Just wait for the Steelers to cut him. How many 3rd string QBs have been traded for in the past 10 years?
