Don't rule Ben out this week yet!

Just saw ESPN with a shot from Steeler dr. room....pic of SB 40 team, Ben comes running in late, jumps from right foot onto left UP onto riser. Laughing, had white wrap on right foot, black one on left.

He might have done his jump and landing a bit gingerly, but a guy with an injury keeping him out of a game doesnt jump up onto risers to get beside da Beard for a pic.

Ben starts today.

Write it down.
 
I have mixed feelings about this. Obviously if he's healthy he should start. If the Steelers get quite a lead over the Browns, send Jones in to mop up.

According to ESPN, Ben is ACTIVE today...
 
He is active and they have said before he won't dress if he isn't going to start. So, if they hold true to that, Ben will start today. Not sure if it's the best decision though as we should be able to beat the Clowns without him but we have lost games already that we should have won.
 
CBS Sportsline per NFL.com is saying he is dressed as the backup.
 
I'm sorry that is just stupid. If you activate a guy as insurance against a close game against a bad team then just go ahead and start him and pull him out if he can't do it or you pull way ahead. Ben will always give this team the best chance to win....if he's active, should start...period.

You guys know well enough over the years to never, ever count Ben out of a football game especially when he tells you during the week to not count him out. I had a feeling if he could walk he would talk them into activating him. He knew the importance of this game. Way to go Ben. It sure is gonna suck around here when you eventually retire from the game.

Not there yet but I will take this win. A step in the right direction toward a playoff spot.
