Does Ben need a week off to rest his arm?

This is how the board is run, and I seldom start stuff like this. But if someone throws mud my way, I've got a heck of a fastball in return. Sometimes I'm creative with it.

If I was here to make friends I'd never say anything negative, thumbs up everyone, and pretend to like people I've never met. The mods can change the rules about negative against other posters and as I said before that would be fine by me. Talking football is best.

Yes, yes one heck of a fastball. Too bad it’s never at the plate. More like in the seats or dugout.

Talking football is the best, but with you, it appears talking to yourself is much better.

In the past I have seen Tomlin grind players, most notably our backs to the point where they didn't have a full gas tank for the playoffs. We need Ben's A game for the playoffs. Rudolph could beat this Bengals team.

Having said all of the above, should Tomlin sit Ben and see if the Steelers can win without him, at least for the first half? I really don't care if we are 13-3 or 11-5. What matter is the playoffs.

As for football talk, you say we all know Ben is our key to he playoffs, yet you also say we should’ve trade/traded him so as to get comp picks and reduce our cap? Make up your mind.

We’ve already seen this team win without Ben. If you watched games you would know. We won 8 games last year 5 with the backup and 3 with the 3rd stringer.

That was almost funny. Yes, he has worn players down too often. He even admitted as such for a playoff lost vs the Jaguars.

Is that really what he said? Like: "I wore my players down and that caused us to lose" ... Or, is that your interpretation of what he said. I think it's only fair that since you claim that he said this, you provide a link. No "Google it" ... Provide the link.

I agree with Buckeye, I call bullshit. Provide a link or this just another agenda driven disdain for whatever reason for the HC.

I was thinking that when he tries to be humorous, Coach's fastball is usually more like a Dr. Fauci first pitch. :topsy_turvy:

just because he keeps you from being the dumbest poster here:loco::loco:

well him and all the canadians and the other florida posters (especially those from memphis) and the female posters...well most of them.

Representing the Canadians on this forum, all we have to say is EH?
Sorry for that.

I think every Steeler fans knows Ben is our key for the playoffs. Many think he's tired or playing hurt. It could be from playing 3 games in 12 days and just throwing too many passes. The Steelers have already clinched the playoffs. Our opponent on Sunday is a really bad football team. One of the three worst in the league.

Better? That's a different discussion.

More entertaining? Definitely.

were you around when Coach took his several year hiatus? definitely a better board with him

Very interesting theory we will need cooch to go away from the board for several years for confirmation.

19-17-15

19-17-15. The Steelers points total in our last three games.

Our season low in the first 10 games for points scored was 24.

Tomlin needs to right this ship fast.

You reference balls quite often. My bet is you lick your own.

Wow what a comeback. A weak one but I expect nothing more troll.

I don't lick balls you do! Good playground comeback I bet all the kids in your neighborhood think you are the bomb.

I don't have all of the games updated because I broke it down after 12 games, but here's some things I found.

Through the first five games the Steelers averaged 31.2 points for, 18.8 against. They threw the ball an average of 33 times per game. Over the next 7 games, their average dropped to 25.4 points for, 16.7 points against. They threw the ball an average of 45.6 times per game over this stretch. While the problem may seem obvious, it wasn't until the last three weeks that it's become a problem.

Obviously the dropped passes against the Ravens prevented that game from being a blowout. The Washington game was just bad. We didn't have it that night the Football Team did a good job against us. Buffalo was just a good football team and we didn't do anything on offense to adjust.

But if you look at other metrics throughout the season, the Steelers have done great while doing well on third and fourth downs and as well as poorly. They've scored a ton of points while having more plays and more first downs than their opponents as well as fewer. They've done it while winning and losing the turnover battle. We've sucked in the red zone and been highly successful and still scored over 26 points. There's not real common thread statistically speaking (I'd gladly share some of the specifics if anyone would like).

What we do know is the Steelers didn't get out of sorts until their schedule got screwed up. I think we lost a bit of our mental edge during that stretch of football. Between an inconsistent practice schedule and thinking the Ravens game would be a blowout (I think the same happened against Dallas), the Steelers began to snowball a bit and haven't bounced out. Blame goes all around, but ultimately it is the head coach's responsibility to get the team out of this funk.

On a side note, I don't think my post was that difficult to discuss a very bad trend going on with this team offensively rather than instantly start the Coach name calling.

Thing is your response is centered around football, outcooche's thread creation is centered around the agenda of Tomlin hating.

When he has 20 threads with Tomlin this and that it shouldn't be a shocker that a created thread with yet another Tomlin knock isn't well received. Also look at your well thought out discussion. Cooch doesn't create things that are well thought out. It is one line two or three with a knock on said player or coach. You know **** said in threads over and over again. Nothing new or enlightening. Nothing in-depth. Just pure agenda. Just something else to whine and complain about while drawing attention to himself.
