I think every Steeler fans knows Ben is our key for the playoffs. Many think he's tired or playing hurt. It could be from playing 3 games in 12 days and just throwing too many passes. The Steelers have already clinched the playoffs. Our opponent on Sunday is a really bad football team. One of the three worst in the league.

In the past I have seen Tomlin grind players, most notably our backs to the point where they didn't have a full gas tank for the playoffs. We need Ben's A game for the playoffs. Rudolph could beat this Bengals team.

Having said all of the above, should Tomlin sit Ben and see if the Steelers can win without him, at least for the first half? I really don't care if we are 13-3 or 11-5. What matter is the playoffs.

We need to clinch the division before worrying anything about resting guys. Locking down the No. 2 seed is pretty important too because if KC loses you get homefield throughout the playoffs.

I think BEN needs as much as any and all players need to get into a rythum. The bungles are just what the doctor ordered to establish this. ONCE the game is decided, pull key people and rest. Coach Tomnlin has shown this characteristic to full potential throughout this season. I'm trusting he shows it again should we be in that predicament within this game. BEN's arm is just fine, the ONLY thing his arm needs is rhythmic weekly schedule and adjusted game plan other than -3 yard passes.

Here's the remaining schedules

1. Kansas City 12-1
at New Orleans
vs. Atlanta
vs. Chargers

Kansas City has played five straight weeks winning by 6 or fewer points. Their explosive offense is simply too much for teams, but these games are close and it hasn't exactly been against stellar competition. New Orleans is still competing for the top spot in the NFC and is getting Drew Brees back this week, which will mean a big dose of Kamara. Problem is they are without Thomas for the rest of the season. While Atlanta is talented, they find a way to lose every week. LAC is very interesting as they aren't going to be a team ready to pack it in. They have a terrific rookie QB who will want to outduel Mahomes.

2. Pittsburgh 11-2
at Cincinnati
vs. Indianapolis
at Cleveland

Put your fandom aside, the Steelers are currently the worst looking playoff contender right now because they're too limited on offense. The message has been received and they're talking about making adjustments to the offense. Even without Dupree, this defense is tough. They should wrap up the division on Monday and have two very challenging games to close the season. Rivers doesn't always show up when it comes to pressure situations so we'll see what he brings. I seem to remember him beating the Steelers last time he was in Pittsburgh because he threw a touchdown pass when the offense had a false start. The Cleveland game is tough to predict because both teams could potentially be resting guys depending on seeding.

3. Buffalo 11-3
at New England
vs. Miami

The Bills are getting hot at the right time. Four straight wins by 10 or more points and they've held their opponents to fewer than 20 points in three of those games. You better believe they're ready to but a nail in the coffin on New England's season to overcome some of those demons from seasons past. The Dolphins game could be huge as the Bills may be playing for the No. 2 seed or Miami could be playing for a spot. We really need a Bills loss since they hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over us.

4.Tennessee 9-4
vs. Detroit
at Green Bay
at Houston

We have a two-game edge over the Titans and beat the head-to-head. You can bet they'll lose to the Packers as well. The problem is they are in a fight with the Colts making our game next week huge for Indy. I don't think we'll fall any further than third in the AFC.

6. Indianapolis 9-4
vs. Houston
at Pittsburgh
vs. Jacksonville

Indy has an easier schedule down the stretch getting a reeling Steelers team and a Jacksonville team playing for the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. They want to win the division and will come out firing in two weeks. I think this offense can be held in check if you play a physical brand of football against them, but they seam to be hitting their stride scoring 26+ points in five straight games and Taylor is heating up. Again, I don't anticipate falling further than third, but things could get scary if we lose to the Colts.

You have seen Tomlin grind players? Isn't his wife giving him any? What MT does in his own time is his business.

That was almost funny. Yes, he has worn players down too often. He even admitted as such for a playoff lost vs the Jaguars.

does coach need a week off so we can rest?

Heck, I going to my in laws next week. It's not exactly a week off for me. Maybe I could visit your heaven on earth location instead? I hear the poor air quality, pollution and oil sludge in the water is great exaggerated. I'll bring my mask anyway. What spot would you recommend for fishing? How's the space center?

ALSO Remeber coach Tomlin has pulled players this season once the game was in hand. He did it several times and I'd be willing to say he will do it again against the bungles. If the Browns game has nothing to gain by winning and nothing to lose by losing, I'd bet Coach Tomlin rest(s) starters from the beginning.

I realize you are given a hard time occasionally, but the above comment shows your narcissistic, egotistical personality. Not a good look for you.

This is how the board is run, and I seldom start stuff like this. But if someone throws mud my way, I've got a heck of a fastball in return. Sometimes I'm creative with it.

If I was here to make friends I'd never say anything negative, thumbs up everyone, and pretend to like people I've never met. The mods can change the rules about negative against other posters and as I said before that would be fine by me. Talking football is best.

every time I think you have posted the stupidest **** ever....you throw even more out there

Win the Div rest the last 2 weeks. #2 or #3 seed doesnt really matter. Might be better to play in an away stadium that allows at least some fans. I think rest is more important the seeding at this point.

Is that really what he said? Like: "I wore my players down and that caused us to lose" ... Or, is that your interpretation of what he said. I think it's only fair that since you claim that he said this, you provide a link. No "Google it" ... Provide the link.

Whoa there... are you suggesting a coach can learn and adapt and fix past flaws? Thats unpossible... redonkulous.... absurdification of the highest degree.....

I was all for Ben putting in some Wednesdays before the last few games. it made sense to me to work on a offense that wasnt running right. at this point if we win Monday, I would hope he practices all days woking on the run game and longer passes, but takes game day off at least week 17

I dont get the coach hate. I think he makes the board a better place.

The Steelers clinch the division with a win over Cincinnati. Then if they lose either or both of their final two games, I believe Buffalo will win out and secure the two seed. Which is fine with me, because in most scenarios, Baltimore is going to be the 7th seed, and I'd rather play Cleveland, Tennessee, or Indy in the first round. The Ravens are going to be a tough out. If they beat the Bills, then they'll meet the Chiefs in the second round, and if the Steelers win, they'll get whatever team is left of the Browns, Titans, or Colts.

That's a great point.

Home teams actually have a losing record this season: 104-106-1. There truly is no home field advantage.

just because he keeps you from being the dumbest poster here:loco::loco:

well him and all the canadians and the other florida posters (especially those from memphis) and the female posters...well most of them.

Sorry but sitting Ben this week is asinine. If you sit him, it is in the final week of the season. And, you can't give him 2 weeks off as he will be rusty. Win this week and win the division. Play to ******* win. Air it out right off the bat and go for the jugular. Get a big lead and maybe been sits late in the game.
