Great long time SI writer passed away at 86. I remember at least one game in the 80s, maybe more, when nbc put him in the booth with Criqui and Trumpy for a Steeler game against Dolphins and Marino. Amazing insights.

I loved his column. He replied to a couple of my questions. It was a damn shame when he had his stroke(s).

Wow, I remember his prediction column was always huge at the beginning of the season. Loved his writing. He was a gem in the sports reporting field!
