I would, in a heartbeat, presuming Fort's healthy.

Me too. After seeing Barron loafing on plays last week I would just cut ties with him. Fort knows the defense and will give more effort than Barron.

Fort has a lot of game, IMO. Great heart. Of all of Tomblin's low end picks, he's my favorite.

He isn't signed yet?

Why not,?

We got a mil left, burn it

Barron was the worst player on the field last week...can him and sign Fort.

Looks like we better release Mongrief before week ten or lose out on a comp pick.

Call me an optimist, but I think he can still contribute to this team this year. However, another draft pick would be nice. Hard decision IMO.

I lost all faith in him, it might just be better to cut their losses and go shopping.

IMHO it's an easy decision. He's a stiff. The pick has value. Put another way - nothing for something. It doesn't involve coaching, so hopefully the Steelers can get that one right.

13 years, Art. 13 years. Why?

Would look good in Black & Gold, sign for vet minimum, see how much gas is in the tank...............................................

Salute the nation

OK, you're an optimist - I'd still cut him and get that 3rd rounder back. Not that hard a decision when the guy's a stiff. There's somebody bagging groceries or selling insurance out there that would be better.

Okay, not to defend Barron, but he played every ******* defensive snap. Consider that Tomlin doesn't play starter in the preseason, it seem reasonable to assume these guys aren't in tip top shape to be on the field as much as they were last Sunday. Even if they were, where in the hell were the coaches and what ******* game were they watching? Surely one of the ******** would have had to see him going half speed, right? Nope - not this coaching staff, because he was never substituted out for a rest. In fact, none of the guys were really subbed that much, besides the Dline, but even they were sucking major wind in the last 8 minutes of the game. Couple all of the snaps they had and the heat in San Fran - ****, I would have expected some of the to literally crawl back to the huddle (if they would have, do you think the coaches would have even noticed?) No, his late game performance falls at the feet of the coaches who failed to recognize he was 10 steps too slow and needed a rest. However, we all know that by then, even a rest would have been futile for him - he was already spent! Subbing should been been going on all ******* game but this coaching staff is just too damn stupid in every single phase of the game - it's pathetic!

Couldn’t the Steelers cut Moncrief and if he clears waivers (which he should) sign him back to the team and they would get the 3rd round pick and have Moncrief back (if he was still wanted). If I remember correctly after a certain date you can sign players with no penalty on compensation picks and they are well past that date...

And btw

Ravens waived OLB Tim Williams.

The No. 78 overall pick of the 2017 draft, 26-year-old Williams has frequently been a healthy scratch throughout his three-year career. He simply could never break through. Players with Williams' draft pedigree typically get a second look, though Williams' advanced age for a third-year pro is working against him.

Wasn't this guy a menacing edge rusher in the draft a few years back? Or do we stick with Chickillo, cause he's got more upside? ;)

Anyone from the 'Bama crew wanna chime in?

Hard pass. Barron actually put in a much better game yesterday. His arrow is pointing up

Anyone else think the Ratbirds signed Fort just to cost us the comp pick?

Agree on Barron, finally had a decent game. Tim Williams is an OLB though....

That doesn't affect it. He's a free pickup since he was cut.

Yeah, but apparently if the Eagles picked him up again, we would get the comp pick back. I know -small chance of that happening but now its lost. Unless we cut Moncrief which wouldn't break my heart.
