Do We Have This in Our Playbook?

You want to know why our road stats sucked this year... we cant audible out of stupid play calls as effectively in a loud environment
Or run the no huddle (according to Mike). Never mind every other team has a signal system for crowd noise.

I suppose it was a bit of a shortsighted comment considering that Bryant boned the organization and the fans. He definitely deserves his share of criticism. The thing with Coates though is that later in the season when he was out on the field, the guy just would not fight for a catch. He'd go out, miss it or drop it, then look for the flag. Each and every time. The play against the pats* was no different. He didn't even extend his arms for the ball. He had opportunities to make plays, and just didn't put enough forward to finish them.

I agree with you 100%. His play regressed terribly. Early on it looked like he was going to be an acceptable replacement, and once the finger injury occurred his play just disappeared. What I don't get is that it was even evident on plays like Sunday (and other times this season). Those over the shoulder catches shouldn't be effected by injured digits. A 0-10 yd screen/stop/out/slant, yes,I get how that would be potentially painful. Basket catches should not. You are also right where you didn't see him fight back to the ball, or compete for balls during his slide as well.

Almost like those baseball guys who get mental blocks and can't throw from second to first.

No doubt his poor performance as the year went on hurt. I hope Bryant can make it back where he was, because Eli, though a decent 2, would be the best slot guy in the league.

OK, we're on the goal line with inches from pay dirt.....why don't we QB sneak Ben into the end zone behind our Pro Bowl center Pouncey???? We've seen Brady, Rodgers, and even Cam run this with success....WTF????

When he was younger he ran the ball. Its been a while since Ben has consistently broke the pocket for runs and QB sneaks are almost unheard of. Really a shame he didn't try one at the goal line behind 53 & 66.

We suck on the road because the game plan is always super conservative, the crap about the noise being a factor is garbage, look at the 4th quarter in Baltimore when Tomlin finally allowed them to open the offense up, no huddle, quick pace. The noise didn't effect that one bit, we moved up and down the field on them.

With less than 1 yard to go the QB sneak works far more than these fade routes which require a perfectly thrown ball in the corner of the end zone.

He's younger than Brady, and Brady does it practically every-other game. This is whats been killing me about that sequence: if the Steelers watched ANY game film on the *pats during the week leading up to the game, then they had to have seen several QB sneaks run by Brady, yet no one thought to do it ourselves with a 250lb QB from the one-*******-foot line. Our coaches are f'n morons.

I understand losing to a good team, but that game was an embarrassment. No wonder Ben wants to quit.

I suspect the idea is to protect the franchise QB.

If I were a betting man, that's where I'd place my money. Haley doesn't want to risk Ben by throwing him into that meat grinder. But why he didn't send the FB out and either use Nix to lead block or do some play action, I don't know...

Play action and QB sneaks are the two things this offense has severely lacked since Whiz left... Best RB in the league, one of the biggest QBs in the league... I love what Haley has done here, but this is confounding.
