I know it sounds crazy but what if Antonio Brown and his agent states they are going to hold out. You know you are in for distraction and will either pony up more money or trade AB after a short holdout from camp and maybe preseason. If the 6-3 sub 4.5 DeVante Parker is sitting there at #22 do you think about snagging him and maybe in 2016 trade AB and roll with Parker, Bryant and Wheaton? Just a thought but what do you think?

No f'n way. Antonio will not be traded.

Why would they do that? As I recall Brown was a 3rd rounder. No need to go to the top of the class. Maybe find someone in one of the later rounds.

We have need at 4 other positions before WR in this draft. OLB, CB, S, TE (you can argue RB too). Those positions will get drafted before we mess with a WR. Someone would have to fall to us to go after another WR.

Sanders was the third Brown was the 5th rounder that year. And we got Bryant in the 4th last year, but do you hope you find a gem late in the draft again or grab a guy who has 3 drops in his college career. I am not saying they will but the fact this news about AB happened before the draft would you play with the idea? I mean what if you can get the raiders 4th overall pick and their third this year and first next year. Do you pull the trigger? Maybe get Folwer and Parker this year and still have an extra third for a CB and another first and probably top 10 pick next year?

ha ha

yeah that would really lay down the law at the negotiating table in the Steelers front office

send a message to all the contract jumpers!

I give it a .1 chance of happening though, just because he's Ben's #1 guy

I'm a draft the BPA guy. So if their board has a WR as the BPA then I have no problem doing that. I'd rather have another great WR than an average or below average player at another position.

No. I feel pretty confident in saying that the un-equaled BPA on the board at #22 will NOT be some WR.

I believe AB was a 6'th round pick but anyway they are not going to trade him this season. If he has another great season then with two years left on his deal they may tear up the old deal and give him a new one but then what happens if Bryant and Wheaton post very good production? I personally think as someone mentioned yesterday in another post that Brown's numbers will drop do to Bryant and Wheaton getting more opportunities. Then you have to address what to do after the 2015 season when you need to pay Wheaton with one year left on his deal and Bell with one year left. If they entertain thoughts of trading Brown I think it would be after the 2015 season IF Wheaton and Bryant put up good numbers and Bell continues where he left off. It could be a real dilemma for the Steelers as to whom to pay and to let go.

No to a WR in round one. With all the holes on defense and then to take a WR in the first round would be totally ridiculous. Round three I could see it happening though.

The way I see it, Brown has already tweeted he will not miss this season. He has some gripes with his guaranteed money being next to nothing if he gets injured. The team will be fair but firm in how they work it out,IMO.

As far as drafting a WR in the 1st, sure, IF that represents the best value of the pick...which it might. I think the team has been looking at those 'special' WRs who might end up being their best option (at the same time sending a message to Rosenhaus that they aren't afraid to make a move to replace a #1 WR).

That being said, I also feel Brown's absence from the workouts now only helps the guys who are there. Brown grabbed a career high targets this year because of Ben's comfort level with him. Ben didn't have much time to develop much with Bryant or Wheaton because Lance Moore, DHB and Justin Brown were thick in the mix.

This year we have no more Moore, who will be replaced with a kid I really liked in L'Damian Washington. He is 6-4 and fast. He had 50 rec and 10 TDs alongside DGB who had 59 rec and 12 TDs. He's as long and fast as DGB without the troubled past. Like to see him get some reps.

Antonio Brown: "I’m spending time with my newborn, can’t wait to be back with team"

Maybe people should wait to get the full story before they anoint him as selfish and demand he be traded immediately. Talk about an overreaction by some people on here. (Not specifically talking about this thread but more about the other AB thread). The way people were holding their pitchforks made it sound like the guy just got convicted of murder. (too soon?)

If DeVante Parker is at No. 22, please tell me which defender that may be available will be a bigger impact player. I doubt there would be many and I would absolutely take him.

That is part of what I am saying. Maybe a few weeks ago they had QB, WR, and RB as low priorities but when Bell got a three game suspension maybe that moved up the priority a little for them. Maybe they thought they wouldn't even draft a RB but now are looking for a 4th or 5th round guy. And now that AB wants a new contract the front office says hey DeVante Parker is a top ten talent on our board but he fell and now there's no CB, OLB or safety we feel is a first round prospect. Do you reach at a CB or an OLB or do you take a guy you feel is the BPA at a position that at least right now is in flux.

I am of this mind.

They may take a WR in round 1. But they will not do anything different based on these reports about Antonio Brown. 0% chance that AB gets traded. Also 0% chance AB holds out and misses even one real game.

Brown was a 6th round pick. Sanders 3rd round, Wallace 2nd, Wheaton i believe was a third rounder, Bryant 4th round last year. Not sure but i think our last 1st round WR was Plexiglass . . .i highly doubt we will take a WR in the first round.

Here's what I say, *******

Antonio, don't be doin' this ****

c'mon man

and I have to say,if U want a WR, get Amari Cooper, if you want to gamble, go get em

Jeebus!!! all this bullshit over a talking head making bullshit assumptions because AB missed 1 ******* "Voluntary " practice. His wife just had a baby is the real reason he wasn't there.
