The NFL has so many rules you need a lawyer to figure them all out. They have so many that are open to interpretation that it's ruined the game. It's completely destroyed the Steelers identity as a smash mouth team that left you black&blue after you played them. **** you cant even look at them funny without a flag

I don't see a single championship they have won by playing arm tackle football or having a weak defense.

That is my beef with the rules as they are. Either make these guys wear real protective equipment again or just put flags on them. The only folks who care about cheap endless scoring are the non fan fantasy football guys.

I will say this. It is incumbent upon the Steelers to improve their tackling. The rules of tackling have changed from 4 years ago or whatever. Some teams in my opinion including the Steelers have emphasized the same techniques but focus on the strike zone and not hitting there. However, that technique is a lot of violent collision and little surface area in contact with the ball carrier. Other teams like Seattle focus on new techniques which are really derived from really old techniques and rugby. This technique may not seem as glamorous and involves getting surface area across the chest against the ball carrier and often gator rolling him or torque him over top if ypu can't stop momentum. These teams that have adapted much better. And let's be honest. With far less big draft pick players Seattle has put together a much better defense than we've seen in Pittsburgh since the last SB trip.
