Diontae Spencer

Why is it that I have no coaching or NFL front office experience nor do most of us fans and yet it was painfully obvious watching Pre-Season that Diontae Spencer had vastly more talent than Ryan Switzer and yet we cut him and keep the guy that falls to the ground immediately once an opposing player looks at him... I just don’t get it...

But he lacks Switzers veterany veteranship and high school pedigree.... too many talented young guys might accidentally make a mistake... better to have an experienced vet scrub who might not make any plays but won’t mess up right?

He doesn’t have any TD’s this year as a PR or KO returner, although he has had a few long returns.

I posted this in another thread last week: Spencer had a 42 yard yard punt return last week, and the TOTAL punt return yards for all Steeler players in 6 games this year is 39 yards...pitiful...

I'm one who definately wanted Spencer. I thought he was on and it would come down to Eli and Switz. What a mistake.

Danny "bubbles cheek" was kept on as a ST coach and that was a mistake so down it trickles. Bubbles didn't make the decision to keep or wave but he had input on who he wanted and evidently either he didn't have enough pull or contributed to the cut.



Hind sight is 20/20 so we roll with what we've got. Maybe Switz's praying mantises leg will kick in and break a return.
