In this past season, we have watched a lot of great plays of all variations and learned a lot about players and teams. One thing we still can’t answer…what is a catch? Might seem like a simple question, but unfortunately in today’s game, it is anything but simple. That is a very loaded question nowadays. […]

The guy in NY changed the criteria of a reviewing a catch after all the criticism since the Steelers-Pats game. Collinsworth was right, "I give up".

The "Guy in New York" apparently wasn't IN New York. Al "I'll suck Bob for a dollar" Riveron was at the game personally and thus was unable to suck Bob for a dollar when Bob needed suckin' most.

In short, a rational human being was manning replay.

OL Al didn't phone in the calls in the SB ?

Nope. The replay duties were in other folks hands. And we see how THAT went for Tom et. al.

May or may not have confused what a catch is but for sure it got the league to look at changing the rule.

Leave it to the N.F.L. to utterly **** **** up. "Hey, let's completely change our processes for this ONE game!"

I truly believe this will be simplified this off-season.
It damn well better be!

I think these problems go a long ways back. Megatron catch Dez Bryant. But it should be noted that some of this goes back to catch and fumble vs. Incomplete. I remember a couple seasons were they sat looking at replay us that a catch fumble or incpmplete. Two steps, football move. So they just cut that black and white and made it very hard to call something a catch.
