Pittsburgh Steelers pending free agent star WR JuJu Smith-Schuster has been the hot topic of discussion for Steeler fans with the NFL free agency period looming. After not receiving the franchise tag (as expected), and Pittsburgh’s tough cap situation, Smith-Schuster is set to become a free agent that can sign anywhere he chooses once the new league year begins on March 17th. It was known that a deal that would lock up one of Pittsburgh’s most beloved players was going to be complicated despite JuJu claiming he’d love to remain a Steeler on the Yinzhers Podcast last month.

However, earlier today, JuJu might’ve given Steeler Nation some insight on what he’s expecting in free agency this coming week. Across social media, he penned the following message attached with a few photos during his time here:

“No matter what happens this week in free agency, if I’m back or if I’m somewhere else, just know that I will never see Pittsburgh as just 4 years of my life, but a part of who I am. I’ll always carry that tough, blue collar spirit for the rest of my life. I LOVE YOU PITTSBURGH #412

Now of course he did mention “if I’m back”, but it’s certainly fair to speculate if this was Smith-Schuster prepping his fans here in Pittsburgh for a farewell.

We will continue to update fans on the situation as it unfolds. But regardless of what happens, we wish JuJu Smith-Schuster the best of luck with a long, happy, healthy, and successful career.

That is just covering all bases. Now batter swing.

Man this is kinda turning into a soap opera... love the guy, hope he stays at a reasonable price, but lay off the drama

He’s gone..

When we didn't extend him we all knew he was gone. JuJu knew this also.

Good luck in your "life's work" away from PITTSBURGH.

As a STEELERS player I care but soon he won't be and I will stop caring about an ex-player's success.

Salute the nation

JuJu for crap sake, we all get it. You’re leaving! You don’t have to keep telling us and do your countdown. You’ve known all along you were leaving and won’t be surprised to see you in NY or LA. Enjoyed having you but if we draft a position really, really well, uh it’s your position JuJu.

We gonna complain about Mike Hilton as well? He's literally counting down the days until free agency.

I will neve,r ever, forget that play against NE.

Only to be ****** by the league, again.

Ya I really hate to lose Mike Hilton. Damn, can’t they restructure DeCastro and Tuitt for a few million in cap savings and also restructure Nelson. If need be I’d cut Haden who is 32 in favor of signing Hilton.
