Late in the 4th quarter on the final drive that won us the game the tv camera's switched to the Steelers sidelines and showed Ben with a coaching headset on and talking to Vick and the offence on the final drive. Never showed Haley, but after every play all the players went directly to Ben for the next play.. Also it was mentioned that on the previous drive when Vick threw the long Touchdown, Vick said Ben drew up and called the play.. I wonder if Tomlin relieved Haley of his play calling duties to Ben and started to notice Haley's horrible situational game management calls. Would be interesting if Ben's the OC for the next game until he's back.

Yep, great job by Ben for calling this one...

I don't really think Ben grabbed a stick and drew the play up in the dirt. Ben probably suggested an existing play. Haley is doing just fine as our off. coordnator

Haley sometimes okay, a lot of times doesn't see things that Ben sees. I bet Ben got tired of seeing Haley not taking advantage of what Vick can do and what the defense was giving them.

Haley does a decent job overall as OC but i think he doesn't react very well to any changes, player injuries and game situations. He made up in his mind to turtle Vick these past few games and we're not going to win that way. Its like he intends to stick to his scrip no matter what and not adjust to any game situation and that's why I think his play calling was pulled in the final few drives. Ben knows exactly how to adjust, he admitted pre-game to audibling 80% of Haley's calls when he's under center.

It's a roll out to Vick's left side. It gives him time to see the field, plus he's running toward his throwing hands' strong side. It's what we should already be doing on play actions.

Yea, that would be REAL interesting alright.....lol

All these Haley mentions and not one friggin' wife picture. What, is the board following Playboy's lead and cleaning up? To hell with that.

Sunday should be even more interesting because the guy calling the opponents plays will be someone who according to many of the Board never made a correct call in all his years here.

Yea I was going to quote the video of that play above with a "Bruce Arians approved" last night but forgot.

This is awesome, Haley is out! YES! Ben is now the OC! Yes!

oh...wait...what happens when Ben is healthy? who plays QB? noooo!

Jeepers people, why the hell wouldn't you use your awesome, injured, QB for input? When healthy, he obviously makes ingame adjustments so why wouldn't he contribute from the sidelines??? Haily is the OC, simple as that. Part of what helps Ben in his success, is what Haily does. Like it or not, ben would not be as successful with out him. Think of Todd as a guidence counselor, to an extent, he gives ben guide lines of the path they are headed.

Not only that but it gives Vick only half the field to read which IMO is a good thing, because he seems to be a bit slow in trying to read the whole field and thus causing some of the late throws that could be interceptions. You can't do it every play, but even in a straight drop back you can limit his reads to one side of the field. The Steelers need Vick to think and play faster, the game seems to fast right now for him. Maybe its because he's still getting used to the offense, Haley and the players but a lot of plays just seem a tick behind where they need to be.
