Would it though?
Who would play Bud's spot?
are you changing the D scheme with one less OLBer?
And there is the ol you can't help us if you are in the hot tub theory. He has had one complete season in four years.
That is one good year out of four.
So you would take a guy that has been on the field and replace him with a guy that the odds show won't be.
And hey I get the like I like the guy and the thought of three high energy players on the team could have a domino effect.
But for me not even for that year.... (Unless we have an adequate OLB replacement)
First off define OLB in this defense anymore. You could create a sub package that gets JJ off the field on some downs. Say you go Buggs, Tuitt and Heyward. TJ Watt, William's and Ola. But the reality is what I do is in almost any passing down I go JJ on the weak side and TJ on the Strong. I drop this left right bullshit. I'm bull rushing JJ from the weak. That will open any inside linebacker blitz from the weak side. I'm keeping TJ wide. On a five man blitz you have the Watts, Heyward, Tuitt and Williams or Bush. Good ****** luck. All five of those guys could walk a one on one straight back into the QB.
