I'm feeling jealous. Seems like you all know and communicate with at least one Pats** fan. Once I meet someone who identifies themselves as a Pats** fan I tend to not be interested in holding a prolonged conversation with them.

So far the only one that I have to put up with on a semi-consistent basis is my daughter's boyfriend. The day I met him, he told me (with a smug look on his face) that he was a Pats** fan for life. I was like "you're young yet. One day you'll grow up and be a real football fan." Then, while we were waiting for my daughter to finish getting ready, I took him into the man cave (full of Steelers rugs, lamps, etc.) had him sit down and told him that there wasn't anything I treasured above my children's well being. At that point I opened up my gun cabinet and asked him if he hunted. That boy's eyes got big as the rims on a semi-truck. We haven't talked much football (or anything else) since then, but he always has my daughter home at a decent hour and he's always very gentlemanly around her.

It'd be his loss. Plus she's a purple belt in Jiu Jitsu. So it might just be a painful break up for him. :)

I know of a couple P*ts fans.
One has been a fan of them - and Boston sports - since we were kids. I think his mom used to get busy with a guy who played for them back in the 80s or so. Havent seen him on Facebook since all this happened. It's as if he's resigned to the fact that his current group of vagina bacterial matter is caustic.

the other guy I know is laughing about the whole thing. He admits that they cheated, but doesn't really care.

I know 5 Pat fans

two are in denial but are quiet on the subject
one blames brady
one was pissed but starting to revert back to brady getting exonerated
and the other is a tool and has a excuse for everything ............the NFL is out to get them and their winning ways when I say but the Steelers won more SBs and nobody is out to get them, he finally shuts it

Steel, I can identify with your protectiveness of your daughters. Mine are older now and further along in relationships and I like the men they have chosen. Although being able to do similar things my daughters older brother beat me to the punch by physically threatening all potential suitors when they were younger. It is good to see fear in some people, it makes them more easy to deal with and in some folks it more often than not motivates them to do the right thing. I suppose it might not hurt to be known as a potentially violent ex cop either.

I also tell them I have 40 acres and a backhoe and your body will never be found.

So I guess revis made a statement to the press basically saying that the punishment was fair because that's what the pats do... not going over well with the fans of his ex team....

I still think the NFL wins in federal court with the Brady Appeal if it gets that far. The union collective bargained away its right to an impartial arbiter when it gave Goodell the right to hear any case on appeal... they aren't helping their case when they argue that he has no right to delegate the initial investigation and punishment..... The courts have had a pretty strong record when it comes to company suspensions in line with a CBA of not getting involved... it sounds good in lawyerspeak, but it isn't a good case in reality... an employer actually has the right to be judge, jury, and executioner in this matter... as absurd as that may be

A job is a privilege, not a right, it's not absurd at all to me.

Agreed...and very true..

However, there are still legalities and other standard processes, that an employer must adhere to, which allows them to be the judge, jury, and executioner..
 
Too often, people watch courtroom dramas and try to apply criminal law principles, or legal rights granted by the government to private industry matters, and they aren't always applicable. Its like screaming free speech after being banned on a private messageboard... idiotic and not relevant... The Brady crew is throwing a lot of past practice stuff out there, but they are at best stretching a lot to try to get the exact ruling they want...

The biggest issues are discrimination based on one of the protected classes. I do not believe he has a case.
