We know the offense sucks but the big problem continues to be Bush covering tight ends. The middle is always open and too often Bush is trailing a big *** tight end. Is he not as long as Shazier? Can this be rectified?

Shazier was very good his rookie year, so yeah it can probs be rectified

Kid is a rookie who is playing very well. Shazier is still playing if he knew how to tackle instead of leading by the head. Harsh but true

I’d say it’s the DC keep going with two DL on running plays.

I think he's playing on instinct a lot, but I like what I'm seeing from him so far. Scheme and developement continue to be an issue with this defense. There are a few good playmakers that are covering up a lot of the warts.

I noticed Bush played better & had tighter coverage as the game wore on, broke up a few passes there in the 2nd half. They need to tighten-up their red zone D, as both TD's they gave up - one to the tight end, the other to the WR - had loosey goosey coverage by all parties involved. I'd also prefer to see much more of the VWill/Bush pairing in there, things just seem to work better then Bush w Barron.

Bush is still better in coverage as a rookie than Barron. Bush will be fine. He learns from his mistakes. I will admit this was Barron's best game with us but I'd still rather have Bush and Vince in on all 3 downs. Vince brings the attitude.

Not really. One of the things I did't like about Bush was his lack of height, and low weight. I felt his lack of height would cost him vs NFL Tight Ends. It has. His tackling needs to be more secure. But the young rookie is making his share of plays. The real question is was he worth the trade? We will know the answer in 1-2 more years.

Whaaaaa? You're waiting to see if someone develops, instead of having a knee jerk reaction to draft breakdowns to project someone as a pro?

You must really like this guy...

I think the important question is, is how big is his cranium?

We haven't covered a TE or the middle of the field in so long I really can't remember when it happened. Probably before the NFL made it illegal to destroy people coming across that zone to make a catch. It used to take a tough sob with big balls and arms that didn't turn gator.

Now it's a safe zone for everyone.

Honestly it takes time to really learn that defense and learn it well enough it's instinctive.

That **** will happen. I hope. They have speed, skill and youth. Just need it to become as natural as breathing.

they had a procedure in Gattaca that might help stretching his legs

If the defense is that complicated to learn, it'll never be as good as it should be. Guys come and go at to fast a pace to learn a 3-4 year defense.

Salute the nation

I agree with the OP, this Bush person should probably be cut.

After all it's 8 weeks into his first NFL season and he's only been named defensive player of the week once.

Straight out of your medicine cabinet bleeder? Lol

I prefer the bang it against the table approach, metal health will drive you mad.
