So....I was thinking today, and I came to reliaze something watching that ugly debacle today.

This team is actually a pretty decent. We faced one of the better teams in the NFL today and that defensive performance made me proud. We all admit the Bengals are a pretty solid team but they even know they get a way with one today. The secondary had an outstanding day. Mitchell is playing some good football, great hitting today. He made some Bengals pay.

Robert Goldin, pretty young, is also playing outstanding. ..if he keeps it up I Allen might be a backup regardless. Blake, the scrap player , played well and has made huge plays in the last two weeks....he was faced with AJ Green today, even though he gave up some plays....he damn well held his own.

There's a lot of Speed and Power of that front seven, today the defense brought it even without Tuitt. Dalton was under some seroius fire today....what the Steelers do defense did to Dalton...was never done to him this season.
Like I said, Ben, we love ya man but we need to get going. He was rusty today....but this team can compete with the best of em.

With a win next week we will be on our way.

Yeah, with a win next week. Against the upstart Raiders.

God help us

When they needed to hold the Bengals to a field goal they couldn't do it.

Are you seriously complaining about the defense? They made every play they could up until that point.
They held one of the best offenses in the league to 16pts.
Cam Heyward is an absolutely animal, Blake has some bad plays but he makes some too, McClendon looks way better at DE (we need a good NT), Mike Mitchell continues to look better.

When you start garbage like Easy Blake Oven you are in trouble. Great int but the Bengals just isolated Green on him for easy pitch and catch whenever needed.

My problem with this team is that they think the season is 20 games long. We absolutely must go on a 4 to 5 game win streak right now. They could be 2 losses away from playoff elimination. The "that loss was on me" bullshit has to stop right now. Just win, and win often..

Ummm Green's TD was against Cockrell...for the record!

If it wasn't for the one catch he had for 30-40 yards, he would have been held under 100 yards. He caught a bunch of 3-5 yard passes and they led to no points the majority of the time.
No CBs in the league can shut down elite WRs. Blake did pretty good on Green today, you need to lower your expectations of our CBs significantly.

Exactly my point. Offense was stinkin, Bell was out. D needed to step up and didn't.

They killed two drives before that on interceptions. Offense couldn't even get a first down. The game was right therr let for the taking...Ben just had a bad day.

No we need to bench a bad player, Blake, and let a proven good CB, Boykin, play but Tomlin stupidly plays his pet and again looses. Green was also a few bad passes away from having well over 200 yards but the passes were inaccurate deep.

I just don't see why the Eagles would trade away such a great CB for only a 5th round pick or just trade him away at all, I mean he's proven and all.. it must be their terrible coaching staff too.

Go watch the Pens.

Boykin upset the stupid one therefore won't get to play. Further proving that the stupid one should be run out of town

Boykin should be involved..something is going on behind closed doors.

You mean the brilliant coach that traded away Shady McCoy, Files and others and is now a losing team ? Boykin has played at a high level in the NFL. Blake has not and in fact is rated as the 2nd worst CB in the NFL this year. Maybe it is you who should spend time watching the Pens as you know shot about football evidently.

The D held the Bengals to their lowest O total on the season.

I think we have bigger fish to fry when dissecting this loss.....

SMH......the D stepped up all damn day.....when the O can't stay on the field for more than 1 minute late in the game they get gassed. This loss can be placed at many feet just not at the feet of the D.

Bingo.

This right here perfectly sums it up. While it's all fine and dandy that someone is taking accountability, you can't have a bad month at this point in the season and think you can do something about it later in the year. im tired of the talk of "well if the offense puts it together, with the way the defense is playing, this team is going to be a contender." They need to get that **** figured out and pretty fast.

While I don't always agree with your hatred for Tomlin, I'm in full agreement on this particular subject. I think it's painfully obvious when someone is in Tomlin's doghouse because they NEVER see the damn field, no matter how bad the guy in front of him is. And while I thought that Blake played a decent game today, it's way past time to see what Boykin can do. However, with Tomlin's ego standing in the way, I don't think we're gonna see him play much.

I liked McClendon at DE. Not quite Tuitt but a lot better than Thomas. He (McClendon) is just stronger and more athletic than Marshmallow Thomas. I'm good with this for another week while Tuitt continues to heal.

Props to the Defense! I actually saw a few good hits....GASP what a concept.. !

The "D" was fun to watch yesterday! Awesome display of Steeler defensive football...

The story line of this game should be talking about how the defense got us a "W" ...

I also thought Big Dan has his best game as a Steeler...they were much better at the LOS with him a nose..

I bet you were screaming at the TV to put in Boykin on Blake's INT yesterday. To put any blame on Blake for the loss in yesterday's game is absolutely ridiculous.
I don't hear Keith Butler lobbying for Boykin to see the field.. talk to any Eagles fan and they'll tell you they didn't mind trading him away.
Do I want to see what he can? Sure, but some of the people on here act like he's the second coming of Rod Woodson or Deion Sanders.
