Day Three - Draft Day Discussion

Really? A bruiser is what's missing from the steeler RBs? You can get a bruiser off the street these days.

They have Conner and Samuels. They managed to get even slower at RB.

We hate RBs that could maybe break off a 80yard TD. We don’t want to score that quick. We like those 20 yard max runs.

So is the new criteria for Steelers picks that their fathers have had to play in the NFL as well? That doesn’t mean their kids are going to be good players.

After picking Snell, i still think the steelers need to draft a RB. They need a 3rd down back.

Snell will be a pretty decent, reliable RB. I just don't see why a 4th round pick needed to be spent on a guy when you can sign 10 guys just like him after the draft.

Just seems like another example of the steelers liking a guy personally so that's why they take him.

We needed depth at RB we got a damn fine productive one. You haters suck it.

I'm not sure fourth round is the place to be looking for RB depth, especially with how plentiful decent backs seem to be in today's NFL.

Tombert definitely rolls to the beat of their own drum.

He had a 5.0 YPC average all through college against really good competition. And they all knew he was getting the rock.

Maybe let this guy play a few downs in the NFL before getting too worked up.

let's jump the *s and get Thompson, come on

He could have been had in the 6th. These slow, big backs are easily found late in the draft. Our OL better be ready to open up some big running lanes.

I saw one projection had him in the 3rd. People really can't hang their hat on what round a player should be in. Steelers board isn't mock drafts rankings.

Glue in on his TD production, it might make you salivate.

There were 10 guys left who ran for 5.0 YPC & 48 TDs against SEC competition in college?

Did Mack Wilson murder somebody over the past 24 hours? How the **** is he still on the board?

4-7 is your depth rounds, with a hope some will prove later to be starters.

No starting positions open, and obviously they liked this guy higher than any TEs available which is about as close as a starting position as the Steelers need right now.

Amadi taken by the seahawks, I think he was a target in the 5th/6th for the FO

he must had had some terrible interviews

Huh??? I believe they brought Snell in as the 3rd down back.....

I disagree on them needing another back, as Ithink both Conner and Samuel showed enough last season to make using another pick, let alone a fourth, on another one pointless.

I don't get it.

Was he the player that the Bama coaches took away playcalling duties from mid-season?

SEC.....Hear that??? He did this **** in the SEC

Hopefully our OL opens up huge lanes like theirs did.

Conner and JaySam are third down capable backs.

Now they have three different types of RBs that can be used in different ways.

Benny was a man among boys.

  • Trails only Herschel Walker (49) for the most rushing TDs prior to his senior season in SEC history
  • Joined Herschel Walker as the only two players in SEC history to rush for at least 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns in each of his first three seasons

5 ypc iin college s not the mark of greatness you think. Last year there were 123 RBs who average 5.1 or more
