The good news is that Davis is expected to be ready for camp, as Fowler indicates. And as a second year player, missing some of the spring work isn’t the worst thing in the world. However, it is not clear when the surgery happened and how long he’s expected to be out for.

Davis started eight games last season, finishing the regular season with 65 tackles and one interception. He missed parts of his rookie season with a lower back injury.

When healthy, he’ll start at strong safety opposite Mike Mitchell. It’s a big season for Davis and the Steelers are counting on him to make impact, splash plays.

Update: Davis was spotted going through drills today. May still be held out of team work but to reiterate, the surgery doesn’t sound serious and there has been some time elapsed since it happened.

I never get the recently. You play a sport that relies on your body. They have the best medical imagery available. February 10th surgery 100% now.

That's what the off season is for, he got the surgery and will be back in action in a timely manner. What more could you want???? I know patience is hard but most things play out in due time. He will be fine and hitting hard as there was nothing negative in the report. We as fans may wonder as to the sincerity of the doctors as they are human and miss things occasionally. THE majority of the time they are correct and a hell of a lot better than any of us average Joe shmucks could diagnose. Frustration is one thing but use it when it is deserving. Davis will be finer than fine..............

At least he didn't wait till the second week of camp to get it done.

Looks like overall they are relatively healthy going into the season.

I just hope that is how it ends too.

It's the fact that they want to wait and see if rest will heal these things. Regardless he had surgery a few months ago not last week.

Yup no reason to have surgery if the body can heal itself. In my previous experience I always needed the surgeries for my body to be fixed. Everyone and every injury is different.

Who on the team didn't have surgery this offseason is the question. Just heard Vince Williams did.

Boy does he suck

If he is good to go at camp all good and fine. The wait and see approach really didn't work to well with Dupree last season. I believe Green was late getting his ankle done too. But I could be mistaken. It just seems that they have had some guys who forgo the surgery and end up needing it anyway.

Not so sure....I found the polyps in Supes ***. Also found the lumps on Lunars testicles.

If not for me, who knows where they may be....

Word, even our X long snapper was hurt.

Davis tore his Labrium during week 3 and played the entire season with it torn. Guy is a badass.

in other Safety news, shamarko signed with the jests

He did miss a bunch of tackles in the first quarter of the season though.

He also dropped two easy interceptions. Perhaps the injury is a reason why, but I hear 90% of the non kickers are hurting somewhere during the season.
