Dalton has a fracture

Weird injury......

I think even if he manages to return that thumb is going to affect his grip....
 
I just heard somewhere (possibly NFL Network) that it could be 4-6 weeks. Sorry, I cannot provide the exact source.
 
McCarron is a nice QB - smart too. Hopefully they lose all of the games while the Red Pop Gun is out, but, don't sleep on AJ...

I wonder if ESPN's report is a little premature???

Marvin Lewis said in his post game that he can't fix a broken bone regarding Dalton status next week...or something like that.
 
I would think he would be out for the remainder of the regular season at least.
 
AJ compared himself to Shady Brady coming in for Bledsoe...cough, lol.

Once a back up QB is game planned for, they usually won't play at as high of a level.. that being said, he did look decent.
 
Not sure what he heard but Aikman just said Dalton is out for rest of the season.
 
I've gotten a tweet and two feeds that also say in a best case scenario Dalton is out 4-6 weeks....so for the season yeah....pretty much!

I guess it's a Bennett Fracture....so 4-6 weeks and possibly play with a soft cast but for a quarterback time needed for recovery would be much longer because throwing a football requires more thumb function to throw it properly. He's done....he won't be back this season!

Too bad for the Bungles but at least it wasn't a dirty play like the one that took out Le'Veon Bell last season. Call it Karma!

The other announcer in the Packers game just said the same thing - Dalton out for rest of year.

Real unfortunate for Dalton and the Patriots. Nothing worse for a team than losing the quarterback and wouldn't wish that on even our most hated rivals.
