Dak Prescott just broke his ankle

I would hate to be the agent or advisor that told him to turn down the huge contract he was offered. 100 million of it was guaranteed. I believe athletes get to hung up on wanting to be the highest paid at there position. (insert your Bell joke here)

Don't think Jerry will use a second franchise tag on Dak next year. Guy was playing for a big contract next year with someone. Sucks for the young man.

Not likely. Dak is worth about 37 million on the cap next season. He's not worth that amount. He's more like the 15th best quarterback in the NFL, not the 5th. If Dallas can win some games with Andy Dalton, they could re-sign him ( He's making 3 ,million a year ) Lose Dak in free agency, collecting a 3rd round comp pick in 2022, and draft a new QB in 2021 and save oh roughly 30 million in cap space. With 30 million they could fix a very bad defense. That's why a smart GM would do.

Jerry Jones ego and stubborn streak could prevent change.

I wish Dak a full recovery, but at the same time I sort of enjoy the self inflicted wounds and chaos around the Cowboys. Can't wait to play them this year.

Idk if something needs done or not. IDK how it could be regulated etc. but this type of tackle, where they grab high and swing their body low does nothing but damage. Burfict did this **** too. if i remember correctly.

yeah, you can always draft a new QB in the draft and be succesful with the kid, oh wait, this is not Madden NFL...

no. God no. we don't need more regulation on tackling. it was a freak ******* play. the amount of times we see nasty injuries like this is VERY rare. you're just inviting one more step towards flag football with that type of thinking, **** all that noise.

This actually happened:

Jim Nantz: "Looks like a cramp."

Broadcast shows Prescott's foot sideways.

pretty sure it was Romo that said that, wasn't it?

Anyway, when they first showed it from that front angle, i was sitting there thinking, "looks like dak's cleat came half-way off and it's just hanging on his foot there. . ." then i see the giants defender waiving to the sideline to hustle over to where dak was laying, and i realized, "oh ****! that's his entire foot pointed the wrong way!"

Title says broken ankle. You ask if he’s back next week. I wish there was negative karma.

Shall be interesting to see what Dalton can do. They might be 1-5 after this.

there is negative karma, if you hit the little star and select "disapprove" it is negative karma

**** happens....especially when you run designed draws and runs for your QB.

Herbert loos fantastic. Burrow looks like a keeper. Lots of 2nd and 3 year QB's elevating their team. You can not buy a franchise QB, you must draft one.

Unless your Bleeder type of stupid, never pay an average type of QB who has won just 1 playoff game in many years 30+ million, as it kills your cap and you need better that the position,

If you check stats on QB hit or miss the odds are against it. A class like Ben's is an anomaly for example, Burrow is a consensus 1st pick that doesn't come out all the time. Just check the rest of the league and all the failed 1st round QB picks.

Just ask the jets and dolphins, perennial QB carousels

This is Dak's 5th year. And while a QB is the most important player on the team, it takes an entire team to win a Super Bowl. It's one thing if those previous Dallas teams were stacked and Prescott was messing it up, but that is hardly the case here.

In Dak's stint with the Cowboys, he has been to the playoffs twice, earning a record of 1-2. In those three games, he has completed 64% of his passes, thrown for nearly 800 yards with 5TD and 2 Int and a QBR over 95. Those numbers aren't eye popping, but they aren't awful.

I don't think he is worth over $30 million, but then I don't think any of them are worth that kind of money. NFL economics being what they are, I think Dak is in the top half of all starting NFL QB's and considering that having a decent QB is huge when it comes to winning, he will get paid like his is in the top half. According to overthecap.com, he is making 30.1 million this year. I'd say $25-28 is probably about right, but Dallas will offer him what they think he is worth, obviously. If that is $35 million or more, who cares? It's Jerry's money.

Do you want Dak to remain hurt, or do you cheer for Dallas?

What kind of question is that? If you aren't a Dallas fan you want Dak to be hurt? That's not cool.

If I am misunderstanding, please explain why.

And you must be closet Cowboys fan. Do you want Dak to remain hurt, or do you cheer for Dallas?

F off numb nuts.
When I think you can't top your history of bullshit comments here you are proving me wrong. No nobody outside of you on this board wants Dak to remain hurt you piece of ****. This is just another reason that you should go elsewhere and post. Be glad I am not a mod I would have banned you for a comment like this you transforming twatwaffle.

I have always been a fan of the opposition fielding its strongest team. Never wishing for an injury.....or for a long rehab. While injuries happen all the time I would never wish for a player “ to remain hurt”. To me that’s bad karma. Plus when you play them their fans will say......yah,you beat us without our starting QB. Kind of like us fans of the Steelers said during Big Ben’s injury last season and previous.

I guess we are just different type of fans.

Dak plays for one of the largely followed franchises in the NFL. He has a guy like Jerry Jones to have to deal with and I think he has carried himself well through the contract talks.
Unfortunately injuries are a part of the game and you can tell how devastating it is for guys to sustain something of this magnitude. I wish him a successful recovery and hope to see him play again because he helps raise the level of competition in the league. When I played a sport I would always want to play against the top players on the other team because it helped make me better as a player. I want the Steelers to play well and win against the leagues top dogs. That means they earned their way to being another championship level team hopefully. This season has been filled with injuries to major talent on many teams. Losing your QB like we did last year or a tragic injury like Shazier's is nothing to celebrate except for their journey to recovery.
