Do you say "Stillers?"
I grew up just north of Pitt. I mean, like 30 minutes away.
But, even just that distance, the way people talk in my hometown is different than how people speak in Pitt.
Sure, we have similar accents and some of the same phrases, but not carbon copy (most probably don't even know what that means).
We did say "chip chop ham" (and bought it, even though it is such a low quality ham, it's what we knew) and "sanguiches" but, to be honest. we
didn't pronounce the team as "Stillers." I don't know how far out of Pitt you have to go to where people don't say it that way, but it's not far. And it kind
of bums me out hearing player say it that way on sports shows. I don't think you should unless you're from "dahntahn."
