Crisis in Venezuela update

Lastly, you seem a bit infatuated with me.
While I'm flattered, I promise you that most other Canadians are nicer, better looking and will respond better to the garbage you type than me.
I think you’re being a little hard on yourself with that last statement confluence.
As I mentioned yesterday in another thread, I’ve spent a lot of time in Montreal and Quebec province over the years.
I do have to say, those French Canadians are a different breed.😉

Wow, you sure drifted that quickly. Hope you feel better now.

Anyone that hasn't understood, for at least the past 150 years, that Canada's armed forces were a mere shadow of American might would have to be moron and willfully blind. So its good that you have come around to this realization. Too bad it took you so long.

You imply that I have some sort of Canadian bias or pride. With the exception of the men's national hockey team, I don't. It pisses off most Canadians that know me because I tell them repeatedly, and for the past 45 years or so, that one day all of Canada will be part of the greater North America because of resource allocation. It's pretty simple.

My objection recently has not been to Trump's characterization of Canada as the 51st state (he won't do that because it would cede Congress to the Dems for at least a generation), but rather that he is an idiot in describing tariffs. If you do not believe me look up his idiocy on coffee, oranges, bananas, etc and today's news from Costco, America's great retailer.

Yes, it makes me angry when foreigners demand that the United States acts in their national interest rather than the national interest of the United States.

I know. AND you know. I'm just trying to get you to acknowledge that you know it.

Nothing pisses me off more than foreigners running their cizock holsters about US policy moves, especially when the US provides them with a blanket of protection.

Sure, that makes sense.

And it was symbolic, with the seizure happening as the Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech was being given in Stockholm:

How many iranian oil tankers, with similar US sanctions, have been siezed?

The reporting yesterday was it was seized because it was carrying oil illegally to 2 different countries it was not allowed to distribute to.

Yeah, that's what I read. It will be interesting to watch what happens, and how US or International law is applied, given this new evolution in US policy towards Venezulean exports. One would imagine that due process would be granted, though the likely effect may be more similar to an old-fashioned blockade.

Also interesting will be the US consideration for the Venezulean people's rights and economic interests. And Chevron's, lol.

I believe this is more to do than most people realize in regards to the Venezuelan peoples rights to a democracy and an economic favorable life.
The current countries regime is no friend to its own citizens and certainly not to the citizens of United States of America

100% Agree.

Let's hope that in this American-led regime change, that the interests of the citizens are respected, and if it gets messy, that the dignity due those same citizens is remembered and upheld.
