Cowherd Roasts Tomlin Nuthugger

Oh, makes sense now................................

Cheating or no cheating, Brady was at the top of his profession. He had to be, to win six Super Bowls.

Fortunately, that's no longer the case, as evidenced by the Patriots' last two games.

As soon. As you can tell me what % OF T*MMYB*Y'S career is the "honest Abe" part and what % is the "cheating ******" part........ Is when I will give him accolades in that percentage of accomplishment.

A proven cheater playing on a proven cheating team / franchise..... Doesn't deserve squat.

Of all the cheating in that franchise, Hand job Kraft, Billicheat, & Marsha have benefitted the absolutely most from it.

Sorry topseed, I'll have to respectfully disagree on respect for that bunch of cheater.

I will give them credit for being great at cheating. When the NFL lie detectors (never) Ernie and Bill and goes season by season with cheating questions and they pass for any of it I will give them credit for that said area passed. But I have a sneaky suspicion that the answers year after year would be cheating.

Brees wasn't even with the Saints before 2006, so I'm not sure how that's relevant to your original question, which I answered. You asked: Tomlin has had and inherited a franchise HOF QB his entire career, how many coaches can say that?

Sean Payton inherited a franchise HOF QB for his entire career, just like Tomlin. And they have strikingly similar records.

It's relevant because Ben already had a ring, had an all time rookie season, was well on his was to being in the HOF when Tomlin took over, I'm not sure you can say that about Brees, he started 4 seasons in SD was 30-28 and had an average rating of 84.6 over those 4 seasons. Payton has alot to do with Brees being the QB he is now.

Plus Brees had already had surgery on his arm. There is no comparison between the team Tomlin inherited and the team Payton inherited.

Yeah, every team goes through ups and downs, salary cap problems, **** like that. Not the Patriots. Under Belichick they have had one losing season, his first season with the team. Of his 20 seasons as HC, they have had 10 or more wins in 18 of them. Nine Super Bowl Appearances, winning six. And he did it mostly with no names that no one wanted. Sure there were some stars, but there were also guys like Wes Welker, who was only awesome with the Patriots. Before and after, meh. On top of that, in Cleveland, Belichick had one winning season in five, one season with 10 or more wins and one playoff appearance. So apparently he suddenly got awesome in NE. The light apparently went on, full power, non-stop. Come on.

My point is, no one else in the history of this league, and certainly not in the salary cap era has been able to sustain that level of success. Something stinks up there, and it is my belief the NFL knows all about it, but also knows the league would be ruined if it ever came to light.

Very well put, couldn't agree more. When the evidence got destroyed so quickly from spygate, you knew right then it was pretty bad, if it wasn't they'd have shown it.

The biggest difference is Ben was a Super Bowl winner before Tomlin came along, Brees didn't win a Super Bowl unitl Payton was on board.

Could argue that Tomlin got to a pair of Super Bowls while Sean Peytons been to one...

And inheritance of SB team didn’t help Mike Martz, Jim Caldwell, Ray Rhodes (and multiple Packers short term guys after Holmgren) to get it done either

You'd have to go back to those teams and see the make up of them. Tomlin's 2008 SB team had 9 players on offense from Cowher's time. Of the 2 that weren't one was a FA signing in Hartwig while the other was a rookie in Stapleton who only played that year. On defense only Lamarr Woodley was from Tomlin's draft. The other 10 were from Cowher's team.

Caldwell was 3 years removed from a SB winning team. He went to the SB his first year. But the team was much different. Harrison had retired and they had 7 new starters on offense and 5 new starters on defense. I would wager that those other coaches had similar issues. Tomlin had almost the exact same team for years. When that core group left then post season success left as well.

You're certainly welcome to your opinion (and I can understand where it's coming from), but it's universally agreed that Brady will be a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer, and he is widely considered as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

So now you're qualifying your original statement.

Ben was well on his way to the HOF in 2007? He was 3 seasons into his career, and a year removed from a bad motorcycle accident along with compiling a 7-8 record as a starter. I'm not sure they were preparing his bust in Canton just then.

Plus Brees had already had surgery on his arm. There is no comparison between the team Tomlin inherited and the team Payton inherited.

Is there a comparison between Tomlin and Payton 14 years later? Or will you and Coryea continue to ignore their nearly identical numbers?

Hasn't Payton had enough time to do more with his miraculous turnaround of the Saints, and the HOF quarterback whom, evidently, he is personally responsible for creating?

Nobody is arguing your point of needing a QB to win it all. What we are saying is Tomlin has had that QB and pissed away that HUGE oppurtunity. He could NOT cash in when we had the cash.......... Yaz dig.!!!!

Exactly.... Cowher only had a franchise QB his last 3 years; and then he won a ring. Tomlin has had a franchise QB his entire career; and still he only got a ring because he had the nucleus of Cowhers super bowl team of 2005 .

Tomlin has wasted away the last 9 years of our franchise qb’s career. Tomlin is a fraud and always has been.

They can consider him as they wish. But nobody knows how much of that is due to cheating. So regardless he will have an asterick associated with any award he receives. An award obtained by cheating will remain forever tarnished. Despite Goodell's media pimping in trying to lessen the significance and some buying into the hype.

He will probably have all three of these guys introduce him in as he has so much ******* cheating winning to announce.

1) Hand job BoB

2) Ernist

3) Billicheat

It would be funny as hell if enough people showed up with either cheater signs or a very LOUD chant.

After his rookie season, and his 2005 season and post season run it was pretty clear he was going to be a winner, no if he retired after 2006 he would not be in the HOF, that's my point, it wasn't clear with Brees.

I said Payton had alot do with Brees being the QB he is now because Payton is a very good offensive mind and coach, that doesn't mean I don't think he's underachieving because he is too, just like Tomlin.

The point Vader is making is Tomlin took over a team with 20 of 22 starters from a Super Bowl winning team, Payton took over a dud of a team.

But both have underachieved over the past 10 seasons for sure.

You can say that again.

Mike Tomlin =

3-6 in the last nine playoff appearances.

Have not won a playoff game since 2106...4 years ago.
