Rams have a "franchise qb" and a possibly the best defensive player in the league in Aaron Donald. They have a high draft pick coming and a franchise RB with Gurley. Could be enough to lour one of these guys out.

Who wants to work for their ******* owner? I guess money talks

Did Cowher go Hollywood on us? I could see Gruden or Mooch going there in a heartbeat but not Cowher.

Coughlin would actually make the most sense. Been there done that and he's a no nonsense SOB. Think he could have an immediate impact. Cowher and Gruden have been out of the game for a long time. Not saying they wouldn't have an impact, but it seems they are content with staying on tv

How old is Cower now? I don't see him giving up his cushy job for the rigors of coaching.

The Rams traded their 2017 first round draft pick as part of the package to get Goff. Donald and Gurley are studs, but there isn't much other talent on the roster. O-line is horrible, no receivers at all. I don't think it's the kind of situation that would attract Gruden or Cowher. If Goff doesn't turn into a franchise QB (and fast), the next HC will be on the hot seat by year 2.

Goff has not been impressive. He is not a big guy (215 lbs.) and is taken down pretty easily by defenders. His arm strength is okay I guess, but not elite, and he is not very nimble in the pocket even at such a young age. He also seems to force at least one ball per game into coverage. He reminds me a bit of Tommy Maddox. Can hit a wide open receiver just fine, not a very strong arm, stands in the pocket too long given his size and lack of mobility, turns the ball over way too much.

No way was he worth what Rams gave up. They are now unable to get any of the top 35 players in the 2017 draft.

Cowher to the Rams? Better said on April 1st. If you're going to list a Steeler coach, go with Haley. He's got such an amazing offense to work with a dumb team like the Rams might confuse him with being bright when he's really average.

The Rams will have the last pick among eligible head coaching candidates.

I saw a lot of media outlets reporting Jim Harbaugh would be their guy.

I can't see him leaving Michigan for that **** show.

I have no idea whether Goff will be great or a complete bust, but he's in a terrible situation right now. He's got a terrible O-line in front of him and his receivers can't get open or catch. His QB coach and offensive coordinator are both in over their heads as well...

If we are going to throw Cowher name in it might as well be Jimmy Johnson too. Cowher is done coaching. Gave up on that a little after accepting Barry Sanders was actually retired. Lol

Cowher is the "elder statesman" of the CBS NFL Today show. He sits in the center of the screen every Sunday.

He's partying with his 'rockstar' wife on the weekends and enjoying life.

No way, no how, does he ever coach again.

He makes a few million only working 6 months, home all week. I can't see him giving that up.

I don't see an established coach going into that situation. The roster has a lot of holes, they have a guy I'm sure many don't believe is a "franchise" quarterback and no first-round draft pick this year. They're either getting a retread or a coordinator.

Harbaugh would serve them right.

He'd come in, "Rah Rah" them up and they'd compete for a year, maybe two and then the team would full on mutiny on him.

That would be ******* awesome!

Exactly

We hear this same horseshit after every firing

It won't be Cowher, pretty much a guarantee on that topic.

Salute the nation

Nope. I think they are all happen in the positions, but for the old man. Gruden can become this generation Madden, and BC just seems happy.

If I was a fan, I wouldn't want one of them either as they have been out the game too long. Maybe da old man as a transition but give me fresh, give me hope. But. **** them. Lol

Cant see any of those three......

1. Coughlin.....LA is about fresh, new, fast, and flash. Not remotely Coughlinesque.

2. Cowher.......The only places I can see him land are Cleveland, Philly, and New York. (Where he played and now works) However working just 2 days a week at that desk without any criticism and second guessing is a really nice gig. In addition, since leaving coaching, he had lost his wife, and that kind of a lifetime incident can change the fiber of a man, take away some of the edge that a coach needs to have. I have a hunch he may know this, and thats why he hasn't left CBS.

3. Gruden......He is too smart to get back into coaching. The guy is Jeff Fisher who got lucky enough to play the team he left in the Super Bowl knowing their entire offense, and personnel strengths and weaknesses. He makes a killing being dubbed this QB guru, talking up the young guys pre draft, and then just talking football like one of the guys on MNF. He will be this generations John Madden. All he can do is hurt his future earnings and reputation.

Cowher would never coach Cleveland. When he didn't go after the Giants job, you knew he was done. As has been stated, his life is great. He makes good money sitting around talking football, something that we do for free. At almost 60 years old, why would he want to get back 16 hour days. Plus, his reputation is great. He could end up doing a George Siefert. If the Steelers can win another bowl, I could see Tomlin doing the same thing in a few years. It's a very cushy job.

I could never see Cowher going to LA,not in a million years!

Never say never. Suppose the Carolina Panthers have another bad season and fire Rivera. Then the owner Jerry Richardson offers Cowher full control.

The only retread I see in LA would be Mike Smith or Josh McDaniel. Other than that, they are gonna go with a younger guy---fresh face.
