Could the Black and Gold Double Down on Safeties entering the HOF in year 100

Donnie Shell was just named to the list of 38 senior finalists eligible for the HOF.
Troy P. is in his first year of eligibility and should be as close to a lock as anyone.

Donnie Shell. ...201 games... 51 INTS .....19 FR.....2 TDS........ 4x Superbowl champ......5x Probowl.......3x All Pro
and there were 2 other seasons where he had 5 & 7 INTS and didn't make the Probowl

Troy P. .....158 games...32 INTS......14 FF.... 7 FR..... 3 TDS..........2x Superbowl champ.....8x Probowl...4x All Pro ....1x DPOY


Others eligible Alan Faneca, Hines Ward and Bill Cowher.
I think Faneca would be the next out of this group but it is highly unlikely it will be this year if they were to select Troy and Donnie.

Personally I would be more upset if Donnie didn't get in than if Troy didn't in his first year of eligibility .... I'd be pissed about Troy but would be totally expecting his induction next year at the latest. Donnie has been waiting far too long and is definitely at the top of the group of finalists.
 
Would be nice to see Cowher, Faneca, Shell and Troy all get in. Hines has some waiting before they get him in.

Doubt that Santa and the voting committee would be that nice to us.

They'll take it easy on your heart. That's a sure thing right there. Can't wait to see Troy P get his due. What a treat to watch him play football for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I couldn't agree more, I'm a little young to really remember Lott, but was there ever a Safety that was as great the LOS as he was in coverage?

Ed Reed was a great ball hawk, but he wasn't coming up the LOS to stop a RB, or sack a QB, or jump the line and stuff a QB sneak.

yes , his name is Donnie Shell.
 
As much as I would hate to see Troy not get in this year, I would trade Shell this year for Troy next. Shell has been snubbed for too long, his window is closing as too many other snubbed players are flooding that pool.
