Cook: "Brown is the biggest diva I've ever been around."

This year with this team doesn't bother me going up to Foxboro to play them. If we have a healthy unit they'll have to outscore us...I don't think we lose in a rematch especially if we get Pouncey back and give em a nice mix of run and pass. They wont cover Brown, they cant cover Bryant, Heath or Wheaton consistently.

They were gonna earn HFA anyways...but they don't scare me

Nice post..I like our defense over theirs too. Every week I have seen some improve from the secondary. Run defense needs tightened up obviously but Shazier and McCullers should help a bit. Pass rush looks very nice, starting to look like your user name again.

AB was a diva on the field and had terrible body language, but I would too if my QB targeted a rookie over me on a fourth down pass.

When you ask for more money you better make that catch.

If they ever needed you to deliver for them it was last night in that moment, and you didn't!!

Can the Steelers ask for money back?

That said most receivers are divas and I have always liked Brown and still do, but I did take note in the pats game when he scored late in garbage time he still felt the need to do his dance & celebrate.

Your losing and your celebrating?

That's what is wrong with this team. No one is there to tell him your a Jack *** & maybe if you cared about winning instead of your personal records we would be a lot better.
Great players also make people around them great. Hines ward elevated his team by his passion and his heart. He didn't have the talent Brown has, but he played big.

When is last time you seen someone cry when they lose? He would. He wouldn't be taking selfies a hour after
The game and smiling.

They act as just because they wear a Steelers helmet they are special. This new generation of athlete seems like they are ok with losing.

LeBron James is ok with losing , etc. Because his life doesn't suck. Ya they want to win but the sun will come out tomorrow if I don't.

I miss watching greats who just hate to lose & won't accept losing. These losses hurt the fans more than the players.

Cook went on about Brown has to be coddled and implied he's more concerned with his stats than whether the team wins.

It's a strange thing to be harping on, when there was so much to critique from the game - Tomlin's poor decisions on fourth down, Haley's sometimes ineffective play-calling, Vick not playing like someone who has more than 100 career starts, etc.

Don't forget Colbert's awesome new non-contributor: Scoobs.

Its the whole generation. Ive never had to ban cell phones in my offices before. Now if I dont they'll be taking pics of themselves all day. Most self absorbed, entitled, lazy, medioce group of individuals ever.

.

Good grief!

Brown=Diva? LOL! Maybe one of the hardest working players in the league?

I think the following is more accurate:

Cook=Dumb Bunny (A word my Grandpa used to use... kind of fitting). There you go!

.

Antonio is the hardest worker on the team, the biggest playmaker, and he wants the ball in key situations instead of curling up in a ball. I'll take 20 more divas just like him.

I agree with you 100%. I'm a big fan of AB's and think he is at the very least the #2 WR in the whole league. However he was offered the ball in one key situation and let it sail right through both of his arms. Sure, even great players have "off games." But after having an absolutely crucial drop that is ultimately the difference in the game, you don't go around bitching and raising temper tantrums. I mean for all this blame going to Scobee and Tomlin(and it is without a doubt deserved, especially Tomlin), Brown has to come under fire for that drop too. I mean everyone here bitched about DHB not having field awareness on his TD grab that wasn't against the pats*which would've made a difference so Brown deserves some heat too.

I have to do the same thing. Its a joke. I was hiring a new employee and had him ride with me for the first few days to make sure he was brought up to speed. He spent half the day looking at his phone while I am explaining his job requirements. Needless to say it was his first & last day. I have a safe where all phones are kept for the day now to keep employees of the phone. WOW!

Its ridiculous. I was sitting in the bar last night after the game and the old people (Im 43) were jaw jacking and **** talking the under 30 kids were silent on their phones.

Is he working so hard for the team or his stats?

Terrell Owens had an amazing work ethic, but his motivation revolved entirely around him.

I'm not saying AB is that level of headcase, but the kid shows a lot of selfish tendencies. Roethlisberger publicly complained about his whining for the ball a couple years ago, and he reportedly lost his cool when his largely irrelevant 5/50 streak was just snapped.

Probably just a combination of not getting as many balls thrown his way as usual and dropping the 50 yard TD bomb that did land right in his hands.

I love how people are acting like it was a routine catch that he dropped. It was not an easy catch at all, he was off balance, had a defender draped all over him, but we are so used to him making the unbelievable catches, that when he drops a pass everyone is completely shocked...but catch heat for it? get the **** out of here.

Terrell Owens also talked about himself all the time, watch an interview with Brown. He downplays all the stats, is all about winning. He's a playmaker, he knows he's one of the best players in the league because he works hard at it, VERY HARD at it, considering the amount of single coverage he got, he should have been thrown the ball a BUNCH more times, I completely understand his gripe...IF there was an actual report with PROOF that he was indeed bitching about not getting the ball. Right now we have one source, and he's not exactly the most reliable source...Sorry, just don't buy it.

Swear to God if I ever see anyone using a selfie stick I will beat that individual to within an inch of their lives wih it.

As WR's go, AB is a pretty good team guy. Probably the best in the league at that too, although I like to think he learned from the best.

This. Such a dumb streak to keep track of.

Wait, what? 93.7 actually talked about the Steelers???
The morning after the Steelers signed Mike Vick, the biggest story in PGH sports at the time, Colin Dunlap was yelling at callers that no one wanted to talk Steelers because the Pirates had just beat the Marlins.
"...I swear, what is with these people, this Vick thing is really a non-story, I mean c'mon guys our Buccos were winners last night..."

Another example, the Monday after the Rams game what was the biggest national sports story? Not just local but on all the national media outlets? Ben Rosthlisberger's knee injury.
What story led ALL 93.7 news updates that morning? The Pirates game.

Problem is that 970's signal doesn't get past the McKees Rocks bridge.
ESPN 970 is now on 106.3 FM too! (has been since mid-September).
Check it out, the signal is pretty good now. Heck my little bedroom clock radio can pick it up loud and clear.
I pretty much listen full time to ESPN 106.3 FM now, I'll even leave it on for the ESPN national shows instead of switching to the Fan.

Walking around Italy last month, you'd think selfie stick sales would beat out wine and pasta as the number one sales leader. Seemed like all the younger crowd had them and most of the time you'd see single people just snapping off photos of themselves anywhere. Could have been in front of a dog taking a ****, didn't matter. So more than likely the divaism we are seeing will only be getting worse as society gets more and more self absorbed. Personally I'd much prefer a player like Franco Harris who just went about his business and "acted like he'd done it before" but unfortunately that's no longer the world we live in anymore.

Yeah, but the 5/40 streak is still intact. Awesome!

Like 50 yards in a game is some kind of huge accomplishment, or something. Who gives a ****?

Exactly. If Brown were a 80 catch, 800 yard a year guy, would anyone even care? He certainly wouldn't be in the discussion of best receiver in the game. That's what 5 catches and 50 yards a game comes out to.

Funny. When you break it down for the season it's a **** production stat. I would prefer 2 TDS a game with 80 or more yards of completion. There's a stat to chase.

And yet with all the receivers out there today, Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant, Odell Beckham, AJ Green, and on and on, the closest person to Browns streak was Laveranues Coles, at 19 games. It might seem like ****** stats, if that's ALL he got, but he usually got more than that. And it took a short week with a shaky Mike Vick to stop that streak of consistency. It just shows that he doesn't get shut down very often...
