Not a contusion, it's an ankle injury for Conner. More serious than they thought. Hes out on Sunday per Tomlin

Bye bye playoffs?

Rumor is high ankle sprain, out 4-6 weeks

Again, this team has little to 0 for a backup plan. 3 RBs that have barely been used. Not sure it matters a ton going forward anyway.

Steelers put all their eggs in one basket, this is what u get

Fire all the management

They have money, go get CJ Anderson or someone who has been the main back someplace.

Head coach @steelers saying lower leg contusion for #JamesConnor but to me by video, it is a classic high ankle sprain

Conner was rolled up on from behind by the tackler. His foot was pinned and ankle forced outward into external rotation. The big toe caught in the turf and one can see the ankle spring back inward as the toe/foot disengages from the turf. Conner did not put weight on the ankle immediately afterward.

Contusion my ***, Tomlin lied

This is bad. We very well could lose out. The pass protection by any of the healthy RBs is way below average. That’ll catch up to us quickly.

Dreaded high ankle sprain. 5 ******* wide. **** the RB

WE should be using our running QB Dobbs like the Ravens used Lamar Jackson - get him involved in the gameplan, use him!

Could it be still mild?

Conners had reached a wall. This could turn out much better for us. We have an all-purpose back who is hungry. Conners looked like he had lost confidence. NEXT MAN UP

Could it be still mild?

4-6 weeks is mild - 8 weeks or longer is severe

They should have the MRI results today, but they prob won't tell us anything

So Conner is out and our master plan is to just promote Edmunds from the practice squad? They placed all of their eggs in one basket, when the basket breaks we now have Samuels, Ridley, and Edmunds. Not only will we not be running the ball, but Ben had better have phenomenal peripheral vision because none of those 3 have been known to be good blocking backs.

Is it Ridley or Samuels?

Steelers' Jaylen Samuels could be asked to take unprecedented role

Jaylen Samuels interrupted a reporter before he had even gotten halfway through the question. One he knew was coming.

“Have I ever been a true runner?” the Pittsburgh Steelers rookie said Monday. “No. I have never been like a true running back who gets like 20 carries in a game. But if that presents itself, I am ready for whatever. I am down for whatever tasks, and I am ready (to) just go (and) be great at it.”

Nothing is assured, of course, but the Steelers might be all but forced to turn to Samuels to be their featured back by Sunday when they visit the Oakland Raiders.

That’s Samuels, a tight end/fullback in college whose secondary position would probably be best defined as wide receiver.

The only other running back on the Steelers’ 53-man roster is veteran Stevan Ridley. Ridley has appeared in just one of the past five games

Great a starting RB that has never been a true RB.

Playoffs here we come !

Samuels is a dual threat in the backfield. He should be next man up. Ridley is a dual threat as well. Those two should do fine. Not sure who the 3rd RB will be though.
