Pitt is pretty much the same team since September. Penn State has gotten better every week. What would the score be if Penn State and Pitt played this week?

Nonsesne. Pitt's win over Clemson on the road is better than PSU beating Ohio St. at home. When PSU played a top 5 team on the road, they got beat 49-10. No team that gets beat 49-10 belongs in the playoff.
Are we just going to pretend PSU's entire defense wasn't ravaged by injury for that game? We were down to our 7th linebacker. Come on man you can't be that obtuse
I think Penn State is a better team than Pitt. Pitt with a defense would be scary, but that is not reality. Pitts defense has been pretty much non existent all year. PSU got very lucky to beat OSU, but a win is a win. If head to head wins / conference championships mean nothing then why have them.

Head to head would be the tiebreaker if there was a tie. There isn't. OSU has one loss, PSU has two. OSU's resume is better than Penn State's. Remember, the entire season counts, not just the last few weeks.
Oh for **** sakes now the whole town "should have done more"?!?!?
"In hindsight" right?
Please....
Hey Pop, Pennsylvania called. They're happy you left...

Just make it so the conference champs automatically get in, if that means adding more teams so be it, if not the conference title games are meaningless
Tell them they are free to stay and enjoy their **** weather, politics, socialism, "Blue State Laws," state-run booze system, ungodly amount of leaves in the fall, potholes, soot, grime, dirt, crooked cops, fracking, etc.![]()
The committee has stated that one of their major factors is late season improvement, meaning they more heavily weigh late season wins and losses over early season wins and losses. This makes sense because early season results can be misleading. Teams get better. Teams get worse (often due to injury).
my guess is we see 8 teams within a few seasons. 5 conference champs and 3 wildcards with an auto bid for a non power 5 conference champ if they are ranked above a certain spot.
I agree to a point, but right now conferences may be meaningless. Currently alot of teams play diluted non conference games and I do not think or will change much. A counter argument would be that teams would play better out of conference opponents because a loss won't be as hurtfulI disagree with expanding to 8. It would be cool, but im worried it would lower the level of importance in the regular season. Right now, if you lose even 1 game you could be ******. If you have automatic bids, then the non conference wont matter anymore. It will dilute it I think.
