College Game Day

and A&M has a bye week before playing bama...wonder if it will make any difference

I think A&M has the best shot of unseating Bama.

Pitt beat Marshall. We looked like **** in the 2nd half. Got to figure that out. Up 27-0 at one point then it was 30-27. WTF Pitt get it together. Had a good time though, weather was nice for tailgating and what not. Georgia Tech next week.

Been to many games there, not a better tailgate atmosphere on the country and the nicest fans you will ever find they treat us visiting fans with class .

Im going down for the Pitt game. Should be epic.

Much like Penn State, Pitt just isn't that good. Much like Penn State, looks like they have some players with potential, just need something to bring it all together.

That's what happens when you play powerhouses like Kent State and Kentucky. They have ONE conference win. Texas A&M is 5-0 with 3 conference wins. Just saying.
I like how you're thinking here

This is why college ball is so much better than the NFL.

Yes. I'm not a huge fan of any college team like I am the Steelers, but I prefer watching college football over the NFL.

That Louisville WR went out like a *****. Your season is on the line, your team fights back on the road. It's 4th down and the ball comes to you in open space with just 1 DB between you and a first down. Do you try to put a move on him? Do you lower your shoulder and fight fir every inch?

Nope. You just head for the sideline on your own and run out of bounds a few yards short. How can you watch that film with your team and not feel like a *****?

Big win for Penn State. This is the worst year in terms of sanctions. To this point they have done OK because they had lots of experienced players. They just had 3 DL drafted. Now on defense in particular, they have no depth at all. A bunch of new starters and their top 3 LBs are all injured. They have some talent but no experience.

against Minnesota, you saw some of that young talent make plays for the first time. They still made mistakes, but for the first time, you saw the talent shine on many plays.

It was huge for them to fight back so hard after getting beat so badly by Michigan. Minnesota is not Michigan but they are a solid, experienced team and Penn State showed a ton of improvement.

it was also a big win in terms of the season. With all these young players, if they get 6 wins and a bowl, this season is a success. This was win 3 which means a 6 win season looks likely. They should handle purdue and indiana and need just 1 more for a bowl and more importantly, the extra practices that come with it.

Lots of PSU fans are down on Franklin as coach, but so far this year he's doing a great job. This team has heart and plays hard and they are getting better.

why do Pitt or Penn St fans have to take over this thread when we are trying to talk about teams that have a chance of winning....

As a Kentucky native, that was very disappointing. In his defense, he did signal for a first down after he ran out of bounds, so the Oscar was still in play. I'm surprised the refs did not fall for it.

I'm happy they got back in the game, but at the end of the day it's difficult to not feel like they should have won.

That may have been the biggest game Louisville has ever played, or at least one of them. I would have trouble holding my head up after that 4th down effort.

As a fan, it kind of sucked to sit around for hours, drink beer to the point you might be sick, fist fight a couple of strangers and then have the guy just casually saunter out of bounds on a 4th and National Championship play. WTF was he thinking?

It was a pathetic effort. Could you imagine a guy like Hines Ward on the same play? His should would be lowered and he'd plow right into the defense to do whatever to get past the line.
