College Football Bowls and Playoffs

Ohio State had a month off. As Tape said, being top 4 is the kiss of death. One season and one game have proven that theory right so far. We will see tomorrow if it holds true.

Miami looked leaps and bounds better. They looked like the defending champions. Ohio State had a run but they were never in it.

If this game was in Columbus after OSU had played a low seed last week, I think OSU wins it something like 17-3

They have to go to 16 teams. Get rid of the bye. #1 plays #16 at home and that's better than a bye. Play all games on campus except the Championship that's on a neutral field.

Ohio State screwed themselves. Limited their own possessions. Felt like Miami was just trying to hold on after going up 14-0 and Ohio State never really challenged them.

Ryan Day took playcalling duties away from Hartline and it was a disaster.

A couple weeks off is a rest, a full month is too much if you are playing a team that just played

The only team in the top 4 that i feel strongly about winning is Georgia. Ole Miss is a tire fire. Georgia gonna roll those guys.

Ohio State was solid, but flawed. Replacing those guys on the OL, RB and QB was apparently too much, and Sayin was probably a little overrated. He’ll likely be much better next season.

I think Tech’s defense can shut down Oregon, and Oregon’s defense isn’t that great. Tech’s offense should be able to score plenty of points. But Oregon’s offense is probably faster than any team Tech has faced this year. Could cause Tech some problems.

To me, the Indiana game is a toss up. I think Indiana will have problems with the long layoff, and Alabama has played more recently. That said I think Indiana is good enough to overcome the layoff.

I’m probably wrong about all of it. It will be fun to watch.

I was really surprised how good Miami was. They lost to Louisville and SMU. How is that even possible?
Looks like Sayin can't handle consistent pressure. That pick six was one of the worst throws I've seen in my life.
Jeremiah Smith is a beast. Carnell Tate came up kinda small. Still liking Bo Jackson. And the OSU TEs were great.
The o-line and run defense was.... not great. More surprised by the run D.
When it was 17-14 and Ohio St had the ball, they abandoned the run. Sayin missed Tate, then a holding penalty, then the Tate alligator arms play. Day blew it with the play calling there, I think, since the run game had finally got going. Then couldn't stop Miami. The game was over before that last TD.
Not really upset, just surprised. We got us a NC last year.

Well, that sucked. It wasn't because of the layoff, though, they were off longer before air raiding the Vols last year from the jump. The OL was suspect all year and Sayin showed his inexperience in the last two games.

OSU was probably the 3rd best team in the conference, just didn't play head to head with the other two. All in all, I can't be too mad, I had them as a 10-2/9-3 team in August after losing both coordinators and 14 players to the NFL and starting a redshirt Fr at QB.

Just turned out Texas, PSU, and Mich weren't who they were supposed to be so they coasted through at 12-0. They'll be back again next year.

He was not good, but I think a lot was dictated by the OL getting mollywhopped all game. OSU was the TAMU of the Big Ten, I just got caught up in their record, which was built on a soft schedule.

Zero offense worth anything in the Orange Bowl.

There were empty seats last night. A ton of empty seats for today's early playoff game.

Low scoring game right now. Texas Tech with a missed FG and Moore isn't making much happen.

I was just about to post first team to 13 is a lock for the win.
All that aggressive stuff and trickery, and Oregon gets nothing. They are counting on the lame offense of TT getting stuffed by their defense again - a pretty strong bet - to flip the field.

Strange vibe in this game.

Wow. Just wow.

This game is just odd.
