Coach's draft grades

The value isn't necessarily the media delegated draft slot value. In my opinion, the value we received was in the SPARQ scores of the players drafted. A lot of them were near the tops of their positions. Not it's time to steer those explosive numbers toward positive NFL production.

PS 4 classes is an average semester. You should be taking about 16 credits a semester to graduate in 4 years, and that's 4 4cred classes. Taking 5-6 is exceptional and usually means you're in engineering. Still 4 classes on top of his extra curricular responsibilities and work out regimen IS exceptional!

Showing my age then ... when I went to college we were on Qtrs and most classes were 4 -5 credit hours. So you took 3 classes to get 12 - 15 credit hours a Qtr and that was the norm.
In any event, I can't name too many guys preparing for the draft who were also actually finishing up their degree at the same time. Actually, I can't think of one that I've heard of. The point is still valid. The kid seems to be intelligent and motivated and not the "slow learner" he was labeled as.

I strongly disagree about Dupree not having a a great pass rush burst. To me, it's evident in nearly every game. He generally times the snap well and is across the line before anybody else.
His problem is that when he faces a good OT who is not outright beaten by his initial speed, he tends to just run smack into them and then he's finished. He has no pass rush moves.

This is not uncommon. Most college pass rushers lack moves because they generally don't need them to succeed. Similar to college WRs. Most run terrible routes because they win with their abilties.

His sack production was limited by the fact that he dropped into coverage a lot. Most pass rushers do nothing but rush the passer. Dupree played in a 4-3 and a 3-4. He played the run, he rished, and dropped into coverage. He's ahead of most as a 3-4 OLB candidate. He just needs to learn moves. So does Gregory.

As for Golson, he is short but so are most slot WRs. Slot CB is a starting position since the steelers will be in nickel over 50% of the time. Big CBs struggle with small WRs. Edelman carved up the big DBs of Seattle.

Richard Sherman would get burned all day in the slot.
