All this "we shouldn't throw deep on 3rd and short, just keep the chains moving" talk is pure Yinzer-ism. It's been a very successful tactic for us (50% success rate which is very high for a double explosive gain, i.e. a 40-yard play). When it doesn't work, people get upset. When it does work, people quickly forget the details (the fact that the play occurred when we threw a bomb on 3rd and short). It's like thinking you always pick the wrong (slow) line at the grocery store...it's not true, it just seems that way because you only remember the instances that it doesn't work out.
