I'm always a day late when it comes to bannings. So what was the deal with Coach? Did he lose a bet or was he acting up? Or both? If it was a bet what were the terms? If'n you don mind me askin Boss.

Before the last football season started, coach and I made a bet about when Ed Oliver would be drafted. coach swore he would not be a Top 10 pick. The bet was if Oliver went in the Top 10 coach was banned a month, if he didn't I would not post for a month

Since Oliver went #9, we are free from coach's bullshit for another 24 days

I read the bio on Oliver. Sounds like a down to earth guy who worked hard and was raised right. I think Buffalo got a good player who's likely to also be a good role model.

Now c’mon Coolie, don’t make it sound so laissez faire! Coach was pestering you forever about Oliver until you relented. Then he kept changing the bet parameters and terms daily until the masses here told him he was locked in.

Never mind about his “bet” about White going 8 or later.....

I dunno, technically Oliver isn't a part of the team til he signs the contract so you could easily play fast and loose with this 30 days

the truly dumb thing is coach put in the clause that if Oliver missed more than 3 games the bet would be voided. I kept bringing up the fact that he missed 5 games last season because of the injury he sustained in the Navy game, but coach kept posting about how I would be gone for a month after the draft. I think his last one the week of the draft was something about how the heat must be getting to me since Oliver wouldn't be picked in the top 10...so since he had to be a dumbass, I went ahead and issued the ban.

I was at Oliver's first game as a freshman. UH played Oklahoma at the Texan's stadium. The whole game #10 was flying everywhere and blowing up plays. It was clear he was special from the start.

If Todd Orlando hadn't left with Herman when he went to UT, Oliver would have been a no doubt Top 5 pick. Orlando knew how to get Oliver in the best situations and didn't just plug him at NT the way his successor did....

Coolie, I Remeber all of that and kept thinking to myself.............Coach, you've got a way out. Even the least knowledgeable fan knew Ed was going in top ten. Coach rode to the end and in that one John Wayne movie.............. Rode his horse off the cliff. I hope he (coach) survives because I'm looking forward to his return and dumbassidery of excuses / drafts shudA / etc. Might get testing but then again I know the Mods here are fair and could always give another BAN Hammer vacation.

when he measured taller than Aaron Donald (which coach predicted he wouldn't) and then hit 32 reps on the bench which showed he was also stronger than coach claimed and then had his excellent Pro Day results, only a dumb **** would keep preaching he was overrated and would not be a Top 10 pick....

The only thing he was correct on was that Oliver had shorter than average arms...but that is no huge surprise given the fact he is smaller than the average DT.....
