Bush finished his first Monday night football appearance with nine tackles, three for loss, a sack and a pass defensed. Inside linebackers are supposed to find the ballcarrier more than most as the centerpiece of the defense.

He will need to continue getting comfy. As the opponents are going to get more difficult quickly. Hopefully his growing pains are minimal moving forward.

Everyone found their comfort zone against the bungles. However, they don't play them every week.

I think he has played well throughout the season. Leading tackler among rookies and a couple right place right time moments. D line needs to keep the bigs off of him. True of most linebackers including Shazier when he played.

The Burning Bush is on fire

If there was a 2019 redraft I doubt he lasts till 10.

He's a rookie and he's getting all kinds of grief. But guess what? This guy is a rookie, he's going to get better. This isn't the reincarnation of Jarvis, Ziggy or Durpee.

I'm thinking his comfort level has risen !

Salute the natio

The best part is as good as he is he still has lots of room for further growth. He will get stronger and smarter with his reads and keys. He will learn how to play the game to downplay his weaknesses(size) and use his strengths to his advantage as long as the coaches put him in the right situations.

And, Bush has I believe 4 fumble recoveries. He has a nose for the ball. He is just starting to get comfortable. He is a rookie and will make mistakes but so far, he is as good as we could have hoped. Watt, Bush and Minkah will be (if we can afford them) the anchors to our D for the next 8 to 10 years.

Not to mention you always see a significant jump from year one to year two after many rookies have had a whole off-season in an NFL weight room, as has been stated, there is nothing but room to grow

And Bush is really coming in to his own. A ball hawk for sure.

Absolutely! Bush very well may be a freaking beast next year. If he makes that jump, as I mentioned above, he, Watt and Minkah (fully comfortable in our system) will wreak havoc on opposing offenses.

I know Bush has made his mistakes (and after he got his ankle wrapped he was missing tackles left & right against SD), but he shows flashes of why they moved up to get him. I know he's a smaller guy, but I saw him be in great position that he tossed Marshall Yanda of the Ravens to the ground, and he did it before to a couple other OL. That was one thing I was worried about with him, and he's been tossed around himself -- but when he's squared up, he's got a punch that can seriously rock guys. And he's always in the right place making heads up plays for a rookie. There's no reason not to be really excited about this guy IMO.

Yanda getting tossed to the ground was surprising but a beautiful sight to behold.

Ryan Shazier seems to agree:
