CINCINNATI BENGALS. 3-0. Are they for real or fools gold?

After the Chefs this weekend, which they should win but I wouldn't say it's a lock, they have the Hawks, Bills, a bye and then the Steelers. That's a stretch where we will see how good they are.

Well, they're now 5-0 and are finding ways to win. They are a very good team no matter how much it pains us Steelers fans. Even at this point in the season, I doubt we can catch them for the division. Our best shot is a wild card and then hope the Bungles turn into the Bungles and are 1 and done.

Well, at least the Bills game is a win-win for the Steelers. The AFC wildcard is looking very soft this year. With Baltimore, and KC both 1-4, if the Steelers can win tonight, they will be be in a strong position to at least get a wild card. Especially if Cincy beats Buffalo. The Jets are imposters, although their schedule is very very soft. 9 wins ought to be enough, while 10 wins might get you the 5th seed.

The look legit, but they are still Cincy and they are still coached by Mess it up Marvin. When the air gets colder they will start dropping like flies and AJ will be MIA. Dalton will be Dalton (Not the Road House Dalton either). Picks and poor decsions abound. They will probably win the division, but will lose their first playoff game and Marvin the Martian will get another extension. Not fools gold, just fools.

Andy Dalton.

I used to love this guy. He was just good enough not to give up on, and a sure loser in the playoffs. A top 12-15 type of QB who was being paid like a top 5 QB.

It appears Dalton has gone from the player who prevented the Bengals from taking the next step to the main reason the team is 5-0.

Can he keep this up?

Yesterday was the first time Cincinnati and Dalton have had to play from behind and they managed to come back nicely...I'd say at this point, yeah, they're for real.

Not yet! Who have they beaten? Not one team with a winning record. And many of their games have been close.

They're good on both sides of the ball. Taking them lightly because you believe Marvin Lewis is an idiot and doesn't understand football is crazy, Andy Dalton has been playing well for a few years now and is making this team dangerous. They just scored 27 points on one of the best defense in the league. Their offense can score, hopefully, the Steeler defense continues to improve up to the game between the Steelers and Bengals. I thought for sure they would lose yesterday.

It was a nice comeback. Or a horrible defense of a nice lead, depending on which way you see it. But nothing in the bungles or ML's history leads me to believe they can handle winning....not saying they can't, just that they have yet to prove it and I need to see that proof.

Seattle isn't the best D in the league, they are still riding the reputation from two years ago. They have lost to every contending team this year so far, and their only wins where their D looked good was the Bears and Lions...not even close to the best D in the league.

They're 5-0 and just beat the NFC champion by coming from behind down 17 points with 12:00 remaining. This is the NFL, games are usually close. As of now, i'd say they are for real.

Seattle is not what they once were. Bungles 5-0 but a very shaky 5-0. They can be overtaken provided Ben doesn't take forever returning and we're not 2-4 when he comes back.

Dalton seems to be taking a step forward. He may now be in the Flacco range of quarterbacks.

Marvin Lewis is hard to rate. Is he another Andy Reid, or Marty? A guy who can win, but not at the highest level? Or is he a miracle worker who has made the Bengals a contender, despite working for an awful owner. My opinion is sort of in the middle. I think they have underachieved a bit, but I haven't forgotten what a total disaster they were in the decade and a half before he got there.

They won't beat the pats*****. Nobody is going to beat the cheating pats****. God I hate the pats*****

Well, I did say "one of the best defenses" in the league and IMO they still are one of the best. Kam Chancellor has made a difference for the defense the past two weeks. Andy Dalton and the Bengal offense is one of the best offenses in the league right now, Eifert is playing well, Green is top 5 WR and Giovanni Bernard is a darn good back. The Bengals are a good team and aren't going to lose too many regular season games this year. What happens in the playoffs is a different story, but they just might be too good to lose a first round playoff game. we'll see.

IMO, the Bengals are a top 3 AFC team, Pats, Bengals and Broncos are the class of the conference right now. The rest of the AFC is playing for two WC spots and, of course, someone has to come out of the South, this could be another sub 500 team winning the division year.

I didn't think the Pats looked all that good yesterday, they struggled early on offense and had Brandon Weedon been able to generate any offense, the game would have been closer. The Cowboys simply couldn't give their defense a rest at all in the first half. Every drive was a 3 and out except for the one that netted the FG. The Pats aren't getting shutout, but they can be limited if your offense is moving the ball. I'm not sold on their defense being good.

Right now based on what I've seen this season, I'd rather play the Pats than the Bengals.

I'm not sure how you can say that Kam Chancellor has made a difference the last two weeks when the Bengals just put up 419 yards of offense, most of them through the air. If you want to count shutting down the pathetic 0-5 Lions as him making a difference, I guess you can...but even the Lions put up 345 yards of total offense, and their offense is PUTRID right now. They are 26th in total, DEAD LAST in rushing offense, and 30th in scoring offense. People on here were spouting off about our D not being very good because we shut down a poor offense in the Rams, and they aren't much better than the Lions...I'll stick with my riding the reputation train analogy for Seattle's D.

Difficult to debate your points based on how the season has unfolded. I will say this though, the Seahawks are 10th in scoring defense and 5 of the teams in front of them haven't played 5 games yet. One thing is for sure we will get to see if they're a reputation defense or a legitimate defense on November 29th.

But that's just it. The Cowgirls sacked him 5 times in the first half and then nothing. If Romo and Bryant plays then maybe it's different or maybe the pats**** score 50? Right now there are very many good teams. The Steelers play the bungles twice. If Ben is back they'll be closer games than the game against the pats**** IMHO.

I bet Dalton likes to play from behind to manage to come nicely! Oh yeah buddy, they're for real. REAL GROSS! (Is this gonna get me banned?)

Well, we all know that Belechick, love him or hate him will figure out what you're doing in the first half and come up with a plan to counteract it in the second half. This seemed to be the case yesterday, I'm not sure what his adjustments were I'm not much of an Xs and Os guy, but the Pats must have made some type of change, because Brady was clean in the 2nd half. I still think an offense that was capable of moving the ball even they weren't scoring points would have made a huge difference. Part of the 2nd half change was probably the Cowboy defense being tired as well.

I don't worry bout no Bengals...ive NEVER worried about the Bengals....they had a better team with Palmer, Henry, Houshman-ISIS, and Ocho and we still whipped their *****.

Since when did SN suddenly start showing concern or over-respecting the Bengals ?...who gives a **** about 5-0....theyre losing game 1 in the postseason...they always have. Aint nuthin changed

Agree for the most part. I think maaaybe Green Bay could in the SB, but other than that, not so much.

As for the Bengals, from a Steelers point of view, I think they'll be a tough matchup. I just don't see Green and Eitert being covered consistently.
