Cincinatti Bengals Cement their status as Out of Control losers

Darwin would have loved the Cincinnati Bengals

If the CIncinatti Bengals were an aminal species, they would have gone extinct fro their own stupidity long ago.

Never in all my years have I see a team blow a playoff game like they did.

Really? you thought this was a valid thread? leave that **** in here

Well the Viking are a close second with a missed field goal that is the distance of an extra point ... was so hoping the Hawks would loose ugg

The Bengals don't get to blame the refs... not even a little bit. A lot got missed on both sides, but the steelers had 10 penalties for 142 yards and the Bengals only had 8 for 79...the refs did not favor the Steelers at all...

Blame the refs???

The officials were clearly giving the Bengals help after they went down two scores. No way does a team commit 6 penalties in the first half and then go until the final seconds of the second half without a single penalty.

What is the statistical probability something like that occurs by chance? Isn't Ark an actuary?

went back and watched the end of the game again.

the bungles only have their selves to blame.

Some one started a thread with a pic of Burfict kinda shoving one of the Steelers trainers as he was helping Brown off the field..that started the whole mess.

Porter was there right next to Brown and turned to follow them when Brown was able to stand. Burfict goes to tap Brown on the shoulder and in the process hits the trainer, as the trainer is trying to get by Burfict kinda swings his arm and hits Porter who is behind him. Porter says a few words and turns to say more to Burfict....when #95 (Gilbert??) comes up behind Porter and purposely bumps him. That is when you see the shot of Porter surrounded by Bungle players. As if he would be scared....Refs move into break it up and as Porter is backing away, pacman flies in and hits a Ref from behind drawing the second flag.

Yep that is exactly what happened and when Porter was talking Burfict he wasn't spazzing out or screaming, if you read hi slips he's calmly telling him, that the hit was uncalled for and football doesn't need that stuff. Then the Cincy DL Gilbery #95 bumps Joey enough to make him lose his balance, Joey turns around and the idiot Pacmac comes flying out of nowhere trying to punch Porter over an official and bumping him in the process. All 3 Cincy players involved were morons, Gilberry should've been flagged too.

I think it's pretty clear the Cinci players were going for off-setting and the Steelers didn't give it to them. THAT I credit Tomlin, the other coaches and the players for.

And that's a HUGE thing!

Cincy is so moronic they stole their catch phrase from the N'awlins Saints... So freakin dumb they couldn't even think of their own slogan. Good thing that voodoo curse is on them because they will not win a playoff game until they quit using Who Dey.

The players stupidity represents the fan base well

It's called being mentally tough. We've heard that since Tomlin's first year.

Last Satruday, the biggest gifted wrapped game for the Steelers ever?

Last Saturday, the biggest gifted wrapped game for the Steelers ever?

I would say so. To lose from late mistakes like a fumble to run out the clock, or a missed chip shot to ice the game is heartbreaking for a fan.

To lose from your team's thug like stupidity is even worse. The culture in Bengal land prevents winning. It's no accident the team has not won a playoff game in 25 years.

Interesting that you would call it a gift wrapped game. If the Bengals had "gifted" the Steelers "ALL" of the yardage to get into FG range, I could possibly agree. Yet, as it stood, the Steelers still had to make plays to win that game. First, there's no opportunity to win if Shazier doesn't cause the Hill fumble. Then Ben comes back in and has to drive them another 25 yards or so before the Bengals meltdown. I'd say the Steelers took advantage (finally) of the Bengals' mental weakness rather than the game was "gift wrapped".

It's karma for the refs not allowing the play to continue when Shazier hit Bernard and returned the ball for a TD, that's 22-0. The refs are supposed to let those plays play out since they'll be reviewed anyways.

The fumble was gift wrapped. Everyone knows to just hold on to the ball in that situation.

We still jumped out to a 15-0 lead and dominated and controlled the first three quarters. There is no opportunity for a "gift wrap" at all if that doesn't happen, or if the ref lets Shazier's TD play out. We also "gift wrapped" them 140 yards in penalties too

We were still the better team Saturday night. And the one who kept it together while the other side imploded. We deserved every bit of that win and I look forward to doing the same to Denver, except without all the ugliness

Hill was not trying to fumble, and you could see ball security was important carrying it high and tight. When you have a monster like Shazier, getting a hand on a point of the ball and violently ripping it out from him, it wasn't a gift. Shazier MADE it happen. Getting game changing plays in the playoffs is why we draft players like Shazier in the first round. He is paying off handsomely!

Kudos also for JJ. He had a quiet season, but he is a menace in the playoffs. The strip sack was a beauty!

You win the "Words Without Meaning" post for today. Knowing what you should do and actually doing it; or better yet being prevented from doing it are two different things. Shazier PREVENTED Hill from holding onto the ball. Simply put, Shazier made the play his team needed him to make and Hill did not.

We were without question the better team until the Ben injury.

After the Landry pick, many things happened. Some we made happen (Strip, 4th/3), others were giftwrapped (penalties). Whatever the case, I liken it to correctly calling a coin toss about 8 times in a row, and that , as my roulette playing friends know, ain't easy.

Whatever verbiage you want to use, go ahead. I'm taking the win and hoping for healthy guys Sunday.

Coach is my favorite thread-starter. "Last Satruday". You can't make this stuff up.

No, I think Bettis' fumble in the Colts playoff game, with the missed field goal to win, is the biggest gift.

Ok a few things... the Hill Fumble was a heads up strip from shazier... he was going for the ball the whole time and didn't let go till it was out... its not like Hill just flubbed the ball onto the ground...

Secondly, this is the Bengals we are talking about... does anyone here truly believe that had Burfict not taken that shot at Brown, the Boz wouldn't have drilled a 67 yarder in the pouring rain just so Ohio can once again be taught it has no business playing pro football...

I think one 15 yard penalty would have been enough, the second was gravy.

C'mon, Man. Don't be ******* dense. Yes, everyone knows to "just hold on to the ball." He wasn't just holding it wrong, got hit and fumbled. It was the very ******* definition of "forced fumble". Shazier ripped that ball out, it wasn't a gift or any such dumbshit. It was, literally, a TAKEAWAY.

yep... shazier fought hard for that.. it cant be taken lightly

Not only was it a takeway. The ball was then at the 9 yd line. We drove to mid field and were one play away from getting our selves into FG range. Would we have done it with so little time left? Who cares. We were then given the "Burfict Ending" to the game.
