This guy is from England. He is 6'9" 275, rugby player. Being courted by the steelers as part of some new international thingy with the NFL. We can keep him and have an additional roster spot.

He is trying to be a tight end I guess. But watch this tackle:

I think some of the rugby guys have potential. The problem seems to be at the age they become interested, there is too much catching up to do.

Why is there so little news flow out of steelers mini camps... rookie etc..

just had the rookie camp 11-13,,and not much is said here on steeler nation other than B.S. coach says.

I think with the future of the game moving away from high collision, CTE and spinal-injury prone hits, a rugby style approach to tackling in the NFL is where its headed. Those rugby guys really do rely mostly on wrap up brute strength takedowns as opposed to hurtling your body into a runner like a missile.

I think with the future of the game moving away from high collision, CTE and spinal-injury prone hits, a rugby style approach to tackling in the NFL is where its headed. Those rugby guys really do rely mostly on wrap up brute strength takedowns as opposed to hurtling your body into a runner like a missile.

This is the biggest simple solution to improving the defense by a very large step without adding anyone else.

Depends on what interests you. There is a few signed from mini camp. Washington and Rudolph shined. Edmunds showed good communication skills. Training camp will bring more in-depth news .

With pads and a helmet, you've essentially created a missile that can run. It's the fact that the initiating player more than likely won't get hurt so they "blow up" their opponent with all intention of hurting them. Take the face mask off and instantly, MOST of this problem is fixed.. The NFL is definately straying away from collision(s) and soon there won't be a need for RB. Initially the RB will thrive until the "D" catches up on how to tackle then the RB won't have a very much chance.

No, tackling someone who is not wearing pads and a helmet is a lot easier and less violent than tackling someone who is wearing pads and a helmet.
