This was a real eye opener. The man had bad kidney's yet the Steelers doctors kept giving him medicine?! ( which made his situation worse ) ,

On top of this why did the and the Steelers gave him an extension with a known medical condition?

“Shifting focus to become a more positive poster in general, but will still call out the blunders or errors as I see them. “

Those are good questions. I guess I'd like to see what the Steelers and their doctor had to say about it.

I don't know any of the particulars, but In my opinion the Steelers or any other team doctors should be there soley for the purpose of football related injuries and should be held accountable for football related misdiagnosis. Further than that, if a player comes to the team doctor for something else, examine, I think it is this now go see your own physician. Too much of a conflict of interest.

I guess the NFL union is partly to blame. Players should get more benefits much later in life and the Union should employ its own doctors to avoid the conflict of interest.

The NFL union is at least 50% to blame for all the problems ex players encounter related to the game. At least the NFL is the employer. The union is supposed to be there solely for the players. They have done a real ****** job taking care of their own.

Well certainly Kemo let the union know he had problems with his kidneys and they were on the Steelers and their physicians to monitor the situation. I mean it's not like Chris was withholding that information from anybody in order to play longer or maintain his position and salary. Players just don't do that. They're far more concerned with their health than their paychecks or their game-time.

I watched it and found it really kind of sad overall. I have the same question about his extension. If you havent seen it, you should watch. A bit of an eye opener.

Yeah. It was very sad overall, but it did have a happy ending as his brother retired from football to give him a kidney.

Chris Kemo was average. By the way the knock on Kemo in the draft was he fights a bit and had trouble with focus. The Steelers gave sick man an extension. It made zero sense. I wonder if there was a some sort of deal to avoid an injury settlement?

20/20 wisdom says they could have kept Urbik instead and save a lot of money. Urbik started 4 years in Buffalo.

As an aside, Real Sports is an excellent show and anyone who is a sports fan should watch it.

Players can see any doctor they like. They have health insurance like anybody else. Im sure the Steelers did not have their regular sports injury doc see him. UPMC is a huge hospital with any specialist you need. If he went to a DR he didn't trust then that's on him.

Im at my second job and bored so I watched again. I still think its ****** up he had access to and was shoveling pain pills with kidneys in that condition and he was cleared to play
