Chris Boswell just got a very serious hamstring injury.....p

Could having Canaday snapping the ball instead of Warren could have anything to do with it? I wouldn't think so, as the ball just needs to be placed well after the snap.

He didn't have Greg last season either, so that can't be it. I think it's just a mind thing. Whatever it is, he just needs to relax and kick.

The snap is there. The hold is there. The kick is pushing right. The kick is pulling left. Boswell has a 7 million dollar contract he doesn't have a 20. He is cut tomorrow it is seven over 5. And the team has saved almost three already and can expect to save another 4 or 5. If you guys want to watch this for another 4 or 5 weeks ok my experience is that it won't get better this year. I'd prefer to bring him back next year somehow. A shity kicker gets in everyone's head. When you have to hope that your failure to score isn't compounded by another failure it gets tough. When you answer the other teams TD with a huge in your face ***** slap stiff arm and then you miss the extra point. Its a problem.

He’s not going to get cut or ******* hidden on IR. Geez! Give it a rest why don’t ya!
The Boz will be fine. We need to stay patient and let him work through this.

If I have to watch him bounce another PAT or FG off the uprights I might end up on IR....

Yes, blind loyalty from the coaching staff with players who underperform. He's a kicker, they come and go unless you get a Vinieteri type who consistently makes the routine kicks for years. Dude is missing extra points, how many games do you risk losing while you wait on him to figure it out?

We did just resign him this off season. They will give him more than 3 weeks.

Never understood signing kickers to long-term extensions.

Same **** happened with Blair Walsh and the Vikings a few years ago. They gave him a 4-year extension with 5+ million guaranteed in 2015, and by week 10 of 2016, his *** was cut.

Seems like some of these guys work so hard to get their NFL jobs, but once the money is in the bank, they can't motivate themselves anymore.

So you think motivation is the issue?

I dunno. Kicking is mostly mental and I think once they get big money maybe they put too much pressure on themselves and it messes with their head.

Canaday snapped the entire season last year. It would be hard to think he is a part of the issue. I haven't seen any abnormal HIGH or WIDE snaps.

Exactly what we said at our house. Reed put all that pressure on himself over the contract making public statements and all. Then all of a sudden a clutch kicker sucked balls. I like boz. If he could get it back on track by next week great. But how long before you pull the pin?
If it doesn't look substantialy better by Sunday I'd be working people out Monday and give him till the Falcons game to get his **** together.

I think he's been fine. He snapped it slighly high for the CLE OT miss, but Barry snagged it and had it in perfect kicking position.

He'll snap out of it eventually. I hope it doesn't take as long, but Suisham washed out in Dallas and DC before becoming a money kicker in Pittsburgh.

why is that hard to believe?

kind of a dick headish set of questions...

slash, I never worry about those who prove their worth daily. How about Dem Stillers !!!!!!!

Fire Boswell!! Bring back Scobee!!

j/k. He'll be fine. Just have him repeat positive affirmations, give him some meditation tapes/Enya CDs... he'll be his old-self soon enough!!! Maybe he'll even get the ball in the endzone on KO's!

Probably a dumb idea but here goes.
I always wondered who the backup kickers are. I suppose in the event of an in-game injury the punter is the backup placekicker. We know Ben is the backup punter and the couple times he had to do it over the years he was surprisingly good. Try Berry out at practice with Dobbs or Rudolph holding. If he does a passable job (could he be worse?) then Boz gets a week or two off for his "hamstring injury" to heal when he's really at a transcendental meditation seminar at Nemacolin Woodlands to get his head right. Then you're not using a roster spot, cutting someone, or moving someone to the practice squad. Off the wall and sounds like something Darth Hoodie would do, but what the hell?

Complacency, more specifically.

Feels like he's finally made it, doesn't think he has to worry about job security anymore, has nothing left to prove, becomes complacent, on-field performance suffers.

I would agree but I'd give him the year off with the hammy and bring him back to compete next year. Find a vet who is good from 45 in and live with it for a year.
