Or that is what I'm telling him. If the game was riding on him right now I wouldn't even watch. I pull him aside and say you just developed a serious leg injury. Come to camp next year with a fresh mindset. I can't drop 7 million against the cap on a ****** kicker but how long can you watch this either. He is terrible. Like a golfer who lost his swing.

It does seem like he suddenly lost his mojo. Much like Skippy Reed before him.

Tomlin stating the obvious. Given they're paying Boz $20M, he doesn't have any options besides getting on his knees and praying his kicker regains his form.

He's a heck of a kicker. The whole thing with a kicker is confidence. The ENTIRE THING. Do you honestly feel that you would have had any confidence that he would make anything but the shortest chip shot to win a game. Watch every single kick he has hit this season. Everything is pushing one way or the other.

As Tomlin stated....,he is our kicker.

He is 1/4 and has missed 2 extra points. All those kicks were less than 50 yards. This team plays 3 point games routinely. ANYONE believe for a second that he could have won that game last night. ANYONE. He has already cost them a win. How many games are you prepared to lose? Seriously. Find a way to IR him. Get him to a sports shrink, but you CANNOT play believing your field goal kicker can't make routine field goals.

He's got the yips. Unfortunately, that's not something a player can go on IR for and for the record, if a coach or GM tried to falsify an injury to stash a player, my guess is that player would file a union grievance pretty dang fast.

the way society is today, the yips might be considered a debilitating mental disorder and worth IR

BOTTOM line is a lot of people here are making gut reactions to cutting / hiding him on IR. YOU and no one else here knows what is going on inside Cris Bozwell's head or body. Could he have a injury, albeit minor, who knows. I know trust in our coaching staff is very little and I'm in that category but those who see him everyday have a way better sense than YOU or I or anyone here on this MB. AS many players as some here want to cut, it may be difficult to field a team.

Way more problems than a kicker. The defense needs all the negative finger pointing not a kicker.

I'm sorry, but he is just as much to blame for the tie as all the nonsense that went on that day. He can't hit **** right now. If he misses another XP he needs to go. Period. I don't get the blind loyalty thing?

Blind loyalty thing?....lol

Yes, blind loyalty from the coaching staff with players who underperform. He's a kicker, they come and go unless you get a Vinieteri type who consistently makes the routine kicks for years. Dude is missing extra points, how many games do you risk losing while you wait on him to figure it out?

Just gotta let him play through it. He's a proven, winning kicker, one of the best in the league. He'll get his stroke back soon enough, imo.

Oftentimes, when kickers lose it, they never get it back. Remember Jeff Reed? How about Mike Vanderjagt? How many games will we lose waiting for him to "get his stroke back?" How many games had a good kicker saved for us the last 2 years? We can't afford bad kicking, if we want to make the playoffs.

So you guys want to cut a player we just resigned??

Fire Boswell!! Bring back Scobee!!

j/k. He'll be fine. Just have him repeat positive affirmations, give him some meditation tapes/Enya CDs... he'll be his old-self soon enough!!! Maybe he'll even get the ball in the endzone on KO's!

I'll say this about Boz, he's pulling a little. It looks like he's over thinking and kicking a little tight instead of just booming it. He's not missing by much, hell I thought 2 of those upright kicks last night, bounced in. He's not complete shanking, but he is having trouble with his accuracy. Being the best kicker last year, he might be putting more pressure on himself to be perfect, than anyone else can.

I honestly hope he finds his grove, because he's a competitor, he wants to win, he wants to be a big part of those wins, and he definitely doesn't want to let his team down.

Well said Cope! I totally agree and think The Boz will be fine.
