So in Goddells State of the dictatorship speech today he mentioned that in 2018 they are targeting games in China... yiou know that ultra repressive country a zillion miles away, and that LA was the logical team to "host" such games... said the NFl has to get into the Chineese market....

So Mexico, Canada, England, and China... this is getting stupid... :/:

For being as rich as they are, the NFL owners sure seem stupid sometimes. They think they are being extra smart by trying to be "global." Why even care? Let the rest of the world be all into soccer. Why even worry about it? They really do seem like embarrassing *** clowns on this one.

If they were actually smart, they'd put that money into a minor league in medium cities and have a farm league to develop players. They took a crack that but moronically did it in Europe and it was nothing but FAIL.

They should have started a minor league in the states in cities like Birmingham, San Antonio, Oklahoma, etc. and run it from March through June. Such a league would make money and develop players, but these *** clowns think they have to try to go for the global move.

That Europe league was a joke.

Just imbecilic.

We've sold all our crap to North America and Europe, now we have to sell our crap to where it is made. At least they will be able to get their own Chinese fall off the truck jerseys easy.

Does China allow gay marriage?

China dollars helped the NBA. I hear the 2nd most popular American sport in China is......BULL RIDING. The cowboys head east for torus.

Mexico and Canada are the only countries who have a decent following for football. England is a fail and I'm sure China would be too. The NFL is not a world sport. Goodell is trying too hard

They played in Japan years ago. Playing in China is a good idea. Especially since this country may be too ***** whipped to keep supplying talent.

Show the rest of the world football and they will slowly realize just how boring and pointless soccer is by comparison.

Pretty soon NFL teams will have a set of 5 home games a piece and a bunch of neutral site games around the world. Sounds great.

you don't have to move out of the country , yinz can get married throughout the US now.

(sorry was too easy)

lol

Football is America's Game, right? So let's keep it that way. IF anything, only pre season games outside the border.

You guys have been following the box office trends, right? In 2007 Transformers grossed 37M in the Chinese box office. In 2009 Transformers 2 grossed 65m. By 2014(for some reason Box Office Mojo omits some years) Transformers:Age of Extinction grossed 320M!!! at the Chinese box office. There is so much money to be made over there and the owners would be foolish not to attempt to collect some of that money.

It's not like pro soccer is huge here.

That's why most movies suck now. They are not making movies for an American audience. They are trying to make films that will appeal to the whole world so they make them bland. That's why these days everything is either a high budget CGI explosion fest or a low budget "art" film meant to win awards.

Yeah this is my problem. You are taking away games from real fans. I am sure season ticket prices do not drop if a team loses a home game or two. You are screwing fans both ways....Travel is hard on the players and now you have to worry about terror attacks. I am sure ISIS would love to bomb an american football game.

A co-worker of mine went to a Pittsburgh Riverhounds game and went on and on about how impressive it was that they ran (or jogged) the entire game... as if it was entertaining.

I bit my tongue as I thought "so it's as exciting as watching a marathon".

Maybe because you are watching ****** games. Look at Messi's magic or the excellent teamwork play of teams like Barcelona, Bayern, PSG, etc.

US sports need to score a lot of points to make it entertaining, scoring a goal is so difficult in soccer that when it happens it feel so magical but because you aren't used to it you find it boring.

Yeah. It's also why we have excellent television though, as anything in the middle is fleshed out into a series.
