Man they run the same system as the Iggles. If we can't figure it out they're going to dial up the same game plan with different personnel. That and they did beat us last year albeit without Ben playing.

We're due for a sack. They have every right to be worried.

I hope the Steelers come out blazing. But that loss yesterday was rough

We need to try the ole Gay blitz to manufacture pressure. Put Burns and Cockrell outside and Gay in the slot where he can blitz, he has shown to be effective blitzing in the past.

Also need to find a way to get Heyward and Tuitt back into the plan, I think letting big Dan eat up the double teams in the sub package should be tried to keep a bit of the wear and tear off the DEs and keep them fresher for pressure. Playing a guy 99% of the snaps is one thing, sliding him to the interior in the sub package just seems misguided. Not only does he not create pressure there it hinders his performance at DE when we need him.

This game worries me. It did before last night. Alex can run and with the space our Dbs play I see him picking up many 3rd and short. I'm so sick of the space we play off. I know it's the sceme but damn.

After yesterday, I don't know what to expect. KC always plays us tough, so this will be no different on National TV. I'm hoping they are more focused and pissed off. My *** still is sore from that beating, as I'm sure theirs are, too!

The Chiefs offense is not exactly clicking. They got 6 INTs vs the Jets and only scored 17 offensive points. The other difference is Wentz has an arm that can challenge every part of the field. Smith has a weak arm and throws mostly short.

The Eagles killed the Steelers with short passing but that was mainly due to missed tackles.

The tackling issue is so bad it's laughable. I ran my mouth off to coach about it last week, and these ***** decided to prove me wrong. Still, I just wish they would not play so damn far off the LOS. It's pretty bad when you can't even see the corner on the screen pre-snap.

KC hasn't won in Pittsburgh since 86, so at least we got that going for us.

I think our coaching staff has read the comments of this board and will have a BEST game plan in effect come Sunday.

LMAO, this post from "Fire me Boy!" is pure gold:

"We're going to watch Pittsburgh. Go down to certain areas and watch and study and make sure other people don't come in and score five times. If we do that, we're not going to lose. The only way we can lose, in my opinion -- I really mean this, Pittsburgh -- is if cheating goes on. The only way they can beat us, in my opinion -- and I mean this 100% -- if in certain sections of the game, they cheat."

Home or away, Chiefs are going to be tough to beat, especially after our showing against Philly. The Chiefs went 10-0 to finish last year then murdered the Texans 30-0 in wild card win. Fyi, Chiefs also went 11-1 without Jamaal Charles last year. They're coming off a win last week with 6 interceptions, two returned for TD's. Alex Smith does just enough to keep that O going, and they'll hammer away with Spencer Ware in the run game. In Tomlin speak, coach Reid has now 'seen the blueprint' the Eagles used to demolish us. Tomlin, Butler & Co have to come up with something real quick on D if we're gonna have a chance in this one. I've been having nightmares past few days seeing our tepid pass rush, the likes of Chickillo, Jones and others bouncing off Chiefs linemen.... please make the horror stop. We need a big time turnaround to regain momentum here early on, before this thing starts snowballing.

Damn.... looks like Shamarko Thomas will start at SS, with Dangerfield backing him up. Perhaps this is the first game we'll see Justin Gilbert playing a significant role as well. And I guess stone-hands Wheaton will be in the slot and another go around with Finney plugged in at LG.

DID NOT PARTICIPATE
S Sean Davis (Back)
G Ramon Foster (Chest)
S Robert Golden (Hamstring)
CB Senquez Golson (Foot)
WR Eli Rogers (Toe)
LB Ryan Shazier (Knee)
C/G Cody Wallace (Knee)

The Pittsburgh Steelers currently have two safeties dealing with injuries as they ramp up their preparations to play the Kansas City Chiefs at home Sunday night and as a result of that we could see a new face or two on the defensive side of the football in that game.

With Robert Golden (hamstring) and Sean Davis (back) both unable to practice on Wednesday, fellow safety Jordan Dangerfield reportedly received reps with the first-team defense.

Dangerfield, who has played exclusively on special teams in the Steelers first three games of the 2016 regular season, now appears set to see action Sunday night against the Chiefs and quite possibly as a starter. The former undrafted free agent has yet to play a defensive snap in the league. Dangerfield has obviously jumped fellow Steelers safety Shamarko Thomas on the team’s depth chart despite being listed behind him on the one that was released on Tuesday.

In related news, cornerback Justin Gilbert, who the Steelers acquired via a trade with the Cleveland Browns just prior to the start of the season, said Wednesday that he believes he has a chance of playing in the secondary for the first time on Sunday. During his Tuesday press conference, head coach Mike Tomlin hinted that that could indeed happen in addition to Gilbert possibly being used as a kickoff returner.

Cool, thanks for the update antdrewjosh. Looks like Dangerfield has jumped ahead of Shamarko. Lord knows if Dangerfield is ready to handle the workload, but it's telling they have more confidence in him at this point. I'm actually real excited to see what Gilbert has to offer, glad he'll get some PT on Sun night.

I'm not very excited to see what any Steeler DB can offer, to be honest.
