The Steelers have been dealing with off field distractions these last few weeks and I think it's not so bad to have had them. If they didn't exist the media would be inflating the egos of the Steeler stars because of the win streak and record setting performances.

Tomlin is all about balance and I believe the negative distractions has brought about balance to the team. The media has to fill the air with the cheerleader guy comment, Coach Porters arrest, and now AB'S social media mistake. I believe the cheerleader comment fueled the focus and sharpness of Coach Tomlin and the players. Coach Porter's arrest should have him along with other position coaches second guess how they spend their down time and probably choosing to rather relax or engage in film and planning. And for AB and other players who use social media, I think they'll put down those devices this week and moving forward and exchange it for preparation and focus for this week.

While non of the distractions directly effect the outcome of the game, it can be a reminder and example to the team to not get in their egos and focus on the team goal. So far they've been able to manage.

The concern I have is how much emotion and energy they have to put into beating the Patriots. DON'T LET THE AFCC GAME BE 'OUR SUPERBOWL'! It won't be any easier playing the Falcons or A-A-Ron.

I don't think you have to worry as the STEELERS see two games left. Obviously the things you mention, as I believe you have hit it on the head, as a distraction from the distraction. Kind of like we actually controlled the distraction from being a REAL one. No one on the team is looking past the cheaters. YES they need to play nit like it is a super bowl but also realizing they have two weeks recouperation time. Lays it al;l out and get the win first and foremost. Then set your sights on next team up.

Salute the nation

You left out Julian Edelmans "That's how they run that team over there" comment.
I'll bet Mike Tomlin, Dan and Art the Deuce might have something to say about that.
