Certainly worse options for a No. 3 (though, one of them may be our current backup). Better option than Vick last year.
Glad he is a Steeler. He is one of my cousin's son's best friend from High School. Watkinsville GA , is really excited today for a new chance.
That's a lot of former Chargers on the team (Green, Matthews, now Mettenberger). Reminds me of the time we signed a whole bunch of former Lions (Batch, Hartings, Kriewalt), but that was mostly due to Colbert's former affiliation w/Detroit.
Zach is not a threat this year to Landry Jones as the backup. Maybe next year with a full off-season in the system. Maybe. Steelers always carry three. Nothing else to it at least for this year.

I'd say the lack of success(LSU hehe) falls more on Les Miles than Mettenberger. The kid has the tools to succeed at the next level. I think he'll fit nicely in the Steelers system

Nope he is from Watkinsville GA. His mom and my cousin are best friends there boys both went to Oconee High. It is right outside of Athens. That is why he started at UGA. His mom also worked for Richt.
hope he works out a little better than Green has. Ex-Bolts has me nervous. lol

Yep from GA I remember him in spring practice in what seemed forever ago. I think Mettenbergers mom still works for UGA correct?
